Last Week: 10-1 Overall: 20-2

UNH 27 Holy Cross 17 - UNH struggles then turns it on to close it out.
Rhode Island 24 Harvard 21 - Things are starting to look better in Kingston.
Richmond 38 Howard 31 - A Bison win here would put Howard on FCS terra firma. Not yet.
JMU 63 Norfolk St. 7 - Not sure scheduling in state schools is a favor.
Delaware 24 Cornell 7 - Cornell isn't Va. Tech
Villanova 42 Lafayette 7 - pay back for former Richmond OC.
Charleston So. 21 Elon 20 - Elon is improving. Tough to do it back to back just yet.
W&M 28 Bucknell 10 - CAA keeps Bison win streak alive.
Stony Brook 17 Sacred Heart 7 - Wolves defense will be the difference.
StFU 20 Towson 14 - FCS runner up season is a distant memory.
Albany 24 Monmouth 23 - Old NEC rivals play a tight one.

UNH - Easy pick, Oct 28th is going to be nuts
Rhode Island - Because why not, good for them
Richmond - This better be a big margin victory or the free fall down the polls continues
JMU - hmm.... yeah...
Delaware - Expecting large margin here too
Villanova - The rise of the charts continues, Oct 14th officially circled
Elon - I have a hunch. Elon is going to surprise this year, the rise continues
W&M - nerds
Stoney Brook - CAA homer pick
Towson - CAA homer pick
Albany - Rise continues

New Hampshire @ Holy Cross – The Wildcats keep the unbeaten streak alive and knock off Holy Cross

Harvard @ Rhode Island – Rhody still looking for their first win, but won’t get it this week. Haaavard by a nose.

Howard @ Richmond - The first ghost of coaching past returns to face the ticks. As much as I would like to see London win this one, I think the spiders have just enough to get it done against resurgent Bison.

Norfolk State @ James Madison – Final scrimmage before the real season begins. More of a practice game for the freshman fans (be quiet when the JMU Offense is on the field)

Cornell @ Delaware – Blue Hens come back from their performance against the Chokies last week and put a few more points on the board to seal the win, but a loss here makes for a really rough bye week heading into their showdown with the Dukes in Newark.

Lafayette @ Villanova – VNova takes out their frustration on coming so close to beating Temple this week and wins easily

Charleston Southern @ Elon – CS proves that Elon’s win last week was just a fluke. Back to reality.

Bucknell @ William & Mary – W&M by a couple scores.

Sacred Heart @ Stony Brook – SB gets a narrow win

Towson @ St. Francis – Towson can’t seem to find their offense this year, and I don’t know if they will find it this week.

Monmouth @ Albany – Albany wins

#8 New Hampshire @ Holy Cross
- Probably not close, main shot for Crusaders is if Wildcats are caught focusing on last week
Harvard @ Rhode Island
- Crimson's rust allows Rams to take first win
#25 Howard @ #11 Richmond
- Spiders should take this easily, chance to see if Bison are for real
Norfolk State @ #1 James Madison
- Dukes get to name score on Spartans, MASN2 sees major ratings dip at 4:15
Cornell @ Delaware
- Big Red may be lucky to score, Hens still find a way to make it interesting into second half
Lafayette @ #7 Villanova
- Wildcats > Leopards in SE PA Kitty Klash
#20 Charleston Southern @ Elon
- Buccaneers are a bit of an enigma, home field pushes Phoenix to win
Bucknell @ William & Mary
- Not much to go off for either, Bison have worse loss but better win than Tribe so far
Sacred Heart @ Stony Brook
- Bobby V shows up in a Pioneer t-shirt and fake mustache, throws off Seawolves enough for upset
Towson @ St. Francis
- Tigers face mystery of finding Loretto, Red Flash win easy
Monmouth @ Albany
- Hawks are going to come in confident, Danes prove they're much better than Lehigh

Holy Cross vs. UNH is definitely interesting.

I agree, Holy Cross QB Peter Pujals played an excellent game @ UNH last year in the opening home game. I know he was injured a game or two later and therefore is not well known outside of the PL - some posters may be writing Holy Cross off too quickly. UNH will not be looking past Holy Cross, Coach Sean McDonnell considers Pujals to be on a par with Bryan Schor.

Some MVFC fans just lump all of the NEC and Patriot teams into a group with the midwest Pioneer pushovers they all try to play each season. i.e. Valparaiso and Drake

Now I'm starting to worry! Only 1 or 2 people are picking HC over UNH. That's often the kiss of death. As everyone knows, UNH's QB hasn't exactly been set the world on fire with his passing, and last week their #1 or 2 receiver sat out with a hamstring issue. One of their top DE's left the game early with a shoulder injury, and their D-line is already a bit thin. The D-backs have been performing well, so if the DE's and LBs can put some pressure on Pujals it would sure help, he torched us for over 350 yards last year.

New Hampshire 21 @ Holy Cross 20. Classic trap game, but beleaguered QB, T. Knight, silences a few more critics (for 2nd straight week) with late game winning drive.

Harvard 38 @ Rhode Island 21. Rams better, but just a bad matchup. Can't believe Crimson are deigning to travel south to North Kingston, though.

Howard 21 @ Richmond 22. Cam's little bro throws major scare into Spiders

Norfolk State 7 @ James Madison 66. Ho, Hum

Cornell 10 @ Delaware 35. Big Red<Hokies (exponentially so)

Lafayette 7 @ Villanova 42. Leopards<Owls

Charleston Southern 24 @ Elon 25. Phoenix renaissance continues for another week.

Bucknell 7 @ William & Mary 21. W&M gets the kinks out.

Sacred Heart 14 @ Stony Brook 17. NE Conf's best plays tough, but not quite enough

Towson 10 @ St. Francis 24. Towson fading fast. ...and SFU is at least as good as conference mate, Sacred Heart.

Monmouth 25 @ Albany 24. Oops. Upset special

New Hampshire 35 @ Holy Cross 17 UNH's offense plays both halves this week.
Harvard 28 @ Rhode Island 20 Nope, I just can't pull the trigger on URI.
Howard 21 @ Richmond 38 Richmond finally pulls it all together this game.
Norfolk State 0 @ James Madison 62 Even this score may not be high enough to sway the NDSU #1 holdouts.
Cornell 7 @ Delaware 17 Offense really not needed to win this one.
Lafayette 10 @ Villanova 34 But really not this close.
Charleston Southern 31 @ Elon 20 Chuck South is a big ?, but I don't think Elon has won two in a row since joining the CAA.
Bucknell 10 @ William & Mary 28 Bill and Mary cruise.
Sacred Heart 9 @ Stony Brook 12 Big bad Seawolves too much for spunky SHU.
Towson 14 @ St. Francis 21 Tell me it ain't so!
Monmouth 24 @ Albany 21 This Monmouth team looks good. Without a 100% Ibitokun-Hanks, I'm going with the Hawks.

We have to come to terms with the fact that nothing ever will.

....0.....

^^^That is the number of combined D1 wins by JMU first two opponents thus far.

...0....

^^^That is the number of total Victories by NDSU's first two opponents thus far in 2017.

However, NDSU has played and dominated a perineal FCS playoff team who's only other loss was to a top 40 FBS team.

While neither team has faced a team thus far that has had a taste of a hard fought victory or even much of a pulse to be honest, I still give the Bison win at EWU the nod until proven otherwise.

But the 2 good things for JMU is the Bison are taking a break this week and they will get to strut their stuff vs 0-2 Norfolk state.

With ECU on a two week bye, The Dukes will have to wait until next week before they face a team with a D1 win under their skirts.

There is a strong possibility that our two OOC opponents will end the year with more D1 wins than both JMU and NDSU's combined. That has to stand for something.

This is a contrived argument at best. How about since nothing definitive has occurred that distinguishes the two teams yet in 2017, we go with the fact that JMU had a solid win vs NDSU last December, and dominated everyone else they played in the playoffs last year while winning the championship.

UNH vs Holy Cross- I think UNH is going to continue to get better, HC gives us a tough game though
Harvard vs Rhode Island- Looking into Harvard more I switched my pick.
Howard vs Richmond- This game sucks to pick, Howard is playing great, Richmond isn't. I think playing at home, Lauletta will have a good game and it will be enough to hold on.
JMU vs Norfolk State- JMU..
Cornell vs Delaware- Cornell sucks
Lafayette vs Villanova- Lafayette sucks worse
Charleston Southern vs Elon- CSU had 33 yards vs Mississippi State......haven't played football in two weeks either.
Bucknell vs William and Mary- yawn
Sacred Heart vs Stony Brook- SBU wins comfortably
Towson vs STFU- The best team in the NEC finds a way to beat the worst team in the CAA
Monmouth vs Ualbany- Nail-biter

Never have been a KC fan despite his championship in his 2nd year with a team half made up of Tubby's players. He has a history of playing cupcake non conference games and I'm glad the playoff committee called him out last year. Heck his CAA winning percentage of 55% is worse than his conference peers.. worse than McDonnell, Talley, Laycock, Clawson and even Mickey Matthews.

I assume in keeping with KC's history that Sammy's days of playing nonconference games against the Big 12 are over.

I live in the future. OOC is weak I agree. However our conf is better than yours with strength so overtime we will be more tested than others. I think playing you guys again this year would be a blast. Be fun to see two great teams go at it. Kuddos for the win vs Richmond.

I'm glad you're keeping track of our opponent's win/loss record. I can't do that myself.

If you can let me know when we win against someone else who has also beaten a D1 team, I'd appreciate it. Now is that D1 as in FBS or D1 as in actually D1? It depends on if you ask an FBS fan or not.
