They got the new EWU head coach wrong.

And I don't think the Eagles will be near the top of the BCS standings - maybe the BSC xeyebrowx

Edit: But a nice article

Is it a bad sign to return 18 starters and still be unanimously projected near the bottom of your league?

Could be a good sign, you never know.

No, not a good sign. What are you hearing about your QB position from camp ? And do you have a good MLB to replace your stud ? If you guys can fill those positions with solid players, I wouldexpect 18 returning starters to help you guys move up and be more competitive. Sounds like your coach invested in future last season after tanking in 2015 when you lost every D-I game and by average of 40+ points. Compared to 2016 when you lost by average of 12 points and won 3 D-I games.

How are QB and MLB positions looking so far ??

Honest to God, I think McNeece Egbim could be as good as Dylan Cole at MLB. Maybe not this year, but he has the same speed and "pop". When he was on, he was as effective last year - he made a number of plays against WIU that kept us in that one.

QB is a **** show (not that it wasn't last year, though). Peyton Huslig is the starter.

The good: He was the starting QB for the national junior college champions last year.
The bad: He received two D-I scholarship offers: from us and Delaware State.

He was in competition with Anthony Monken, another JUCO transfer but he's academically ineligible this year. J.T. Granato, yet another transfer, although from FBS Rice, may start...whenever he feels comfortable with the playbook. He, uh...officially joined the team on Friday.

In a different thread I predicted our team would be better overall this year but with a worse record (i.e. our team won't quit in November, may force UNI to play their starters in the second half of our game, etc). A lot of us Bears fans, you know 2 out of us 3 think 2018 will be Stec's "peg" year - whatever he achieves will be the "peg" on the wall he will hang his hat on. He's here until at least 2021 due to our AD being a numbnuts and a jackass, but if the team can't break through next year, he'll be another Terry Allen, muddling along well below .500 for the rest of his time here.

Saw Huslig won JC natty as true FR who took over in game 4. found what looks like legit combine results from April 2015 ... 4.67 forty, 4.3 shuttle 31 inch vertical, benched 17 times .. assuming 135. He was in top 5 to 8 for QBs in almost every event. Saw his HS highlights .. but to a flick in hi throw but seems very comfortable in pocket. Won't necessarily tranlate to immediate success, but got something to work with for sure.

If you have another stud MLB in making with just 1.7 starters to replace on defense .. got to believe defense will improve and be more consistent .. you guys held your own in games against every team except top 4 where you struggled.. which was clear improvement over 2015 where you guys got blown out most games.

Might be hard beat 4-7 from last year .. so agree, you guys should be improved by still win just 4 games.
