Paul Morrison, Drake graduate and former Bulldog SID, has attended well over 700 Drake games since he enrolled as a freshman in 1939. He can recognize and recall the names of an astounding number of players.

He's seen Wichita, Saint Louis, Detroit, Creighton, and Bradley play conference games against Drake. None of those schools have football teams anymore.

He attended three January 1st bowl games, in which Drake went 2-1.

He watched Johnny Bright make a run at the Heisman Trophy, only to see Bright's season shortened by an opponent's cheap shot. The Missouri Valley's indifference to the incident caused Drake to take its football team out of the MVC for 20 years.

He was part of a standing-room only crowd of 25,000 at Drake for an Iowa State game. He's also been at Drake games where the attendance was under 1,000.

But Paul Morrison has never seen an Ivy League football game. x406x

Kudos. I love to see such dedication. We just lost a great support of Lehigh wrestling--a woman whose late husband was an avid fan, but she, too accompanied him to all the matches and after he died over 20 years ago, she kept right on attending. She passed this past week at age 98 having attended the most EIWA wrestling tournaments than anyone in history at 68! So "here's to you Mr. Morrison, heaven holds a place for you"!

Damn, that is too bad. RIP sir. Sure seems like a good run that we would all be thankful to have had.

Let us all hope to be half as great of a fan of our schools as he was of his beloved Drake Bulldogs.
