WIU will need to replace their D-Coordinator, LB, and DB coaches here in the next several weeks.

DC David Elson -> DC at Ball State
LB Coach Garry Fisher -> DC at Tennessee State
DB Coach Deon Broomfield -> CBs at Indiana State

Most of us Leatherneck fans aren't all that upset about this though.

Passing Yards Allowed - 120th out of 122
Team Passing Efficiency Defense - 119th
Scoring Defense - 91st
Total Defense - 106th

But, Rushing Defense - 45th....so...not great, but not the biggest weakness on that side of the ball.
Our front D-line was decent, our LBs have a ton of talent but had some issues with where they were positioned on the field, our DBs were blowing coverage left and right.

So, we're losing the coaches that handled essentially the worst aspect of our team last year....I'm ok with that.

EDIT - Elson was also the DC at Southern Illinois the previous year...when they had an amazing offence and one of the worst defenses in the FCS. So, I really don't know what Ball State thinks they're getting, but he hasn't really shown me that he can put together a decent defense...not in the last few years at least.

Change is good....sometimes.
