Man it's good to be back home this weekend with this Bayou Classic being the most anticipated since 2003. Both Southern and Grambling are unbeaten in the conference so this game will decide the SWAC's Western Division. Kickoff is 4pm central on NBC Sports.

NOW? The FCS playoffs have been in existence for 40+ years. The Bayou Classic is a staple of Americana. Now I'm not a fan of the C.Bowl for a myriad of reasons, but I understand the historical significance of Grambling vs Southern in BCF.

Should be a great game. Southerns defence is not the 85 bears but they are +17 in the turnover category. Both offences are great. Placekickers will decide this one.

No way. This game is huge regardless of playoffs or how good the teams are. It used to be on Friday, didn't it?

That doesn't sound very enticing. First one to get inside the 30 wins? xlolx

Southern's kicker is much better on the season 12-14 while Grambling's is 3-6. They've both missed a few XPs.

The game has always been on a Saturday. The Step Show and Battle of The Bands is on Friday and last night it sold out with over 40,000 people in attendance.

This game will have over 70,000 people in the dome today. It officially sold out earlier this week and black market ticket prices have been as $200 a pop. This game has both SWAC Title and Celebration Bowl implications.

70,000 should beat all 8 playoff games combined...

I wouldn't be shocked if it doubled the attendance of the eight games this weekend. Which team hosting will have double digits? Maybe Wofford vs Charleston Southern since they are so close?

Not a great time to be a New Orleanian though. Out of all the events and all of the everyday crime in N.O., for this event to stick out says a lot.

Take pride and clean up your event SWACsters!

Our event is clean, anything that happens negatively in New Orleans this weekend will be link to the Bayou Classic no matter where it happens. There isn't a better family event with everything you can ask for than The HBCU Classic with the Bayou Classic being near the top of the list.

It's always been a big event in NO. I just wonder what the future looks like with all the academic issues with athletes at Southern.

Nothing happens in NOLA besides the Sugar Bowl and Mardi Gras that draws anything close to the Classic of all Classics. Go Grambling kick that butt.

Also not sure Cal Poly hits that number. Some real losers, attendance wise, for first round hosts this year.

If you are under on a game it might be Wofford-CSU,

Great Coach and a Great Guy. I really enjoyed knowing him during his time at McNeese. His playing history under Coach Robinson at Grambling makes it all more special.

On another note, I'm never staying on Bourbon or Canal again. I literally told my wife about around 10:30 that I didn't like the way the crowd demographics had changed from earlier in the day. We went up to our room and around 1:30 or so we heard police sirens everywhere. This is one if the reasons I hardly ever go home. I love New Orleans to death, born and raised but there's too many up to no good mofos in the city and they'll ruin everything.

Glad you got out safely.

Grambling has really turned it around. Three years ago players were literally walking off the job in protest. Now they are 10-1 and nearly beat Arizona.

Have the facilities issues that caused the boycott been addressed?

Yeah they've addressed the issues that caused the protests and then some others. They have solid leadership in place now and a coach that absolutely loves the school.

I don't know why Ole Miss let Kincade go but he's real deal. Ole Miss has got to be kicking themselves , 2-6 and 5-7 in the SEC. They could have used this kid

No offense to those of you who love it, but New Orleans is the nut low. If I never go back I am just fine with that, what a detestable environment.

That's a good question. The kid balled in the Spring games while at Ole Miss.

It is an acquired taste. I have a son and family there but we seldom go to the quarter. I prefer uptown.

I'm born and raised in New Orleans and I love my city but the city has a host of problems that it has yet to address. I remember for Bayou Classic when after the game there used to be Bayou Classic go'ers all down Bourbon Street. It was almost like an HBCU reunion. Now after the game most of the alums go to other areas because of the influx of young locals that flood Bourbon Street after the game.Around 8:30 or 9 you see the demographic change from Southern/ Grambling shirts, black Greek shirts, and other HBCU gear to gold teeth, and sagging pants. There's not a way to keep the locals away and that's not what we want to do but NOPD needs more police presence on Bourbon and Canal during those hours. There's heavy presence during the day when the Alumni and fans are there bit that's not when you need it.
