Great win for Penn. Assuming they don't choke against Cornell they'll share the Ivy League title with Harvard. Lehigh's win over the Quakers should carry some weight. Princeton also has a great chance to finish 7-3.

JMU and Villanova tied up at 7-7 at half. Bryan Schor is out of the game with a shoulder injury and does not appear to be returning today. Our second string QB was hurt earlier this year in a non football injury so we burned the redshirt of true freshman Cole Johnson. He does not look good thus far. Our kicker has missed two field goals. Our defense has really stepped up today and is the only reason this game is close.

The Citadel 17, VMI 7; Halftime. one of Citadel's TDs: A sack and strip by one of their DT's, goes 58 yards for the score. VMI's score a double pass from QB to TE, back to QB.

A VMI LB was ejected for "targeting" the CItadel QB.....he hit him in the shoulder pads with extended arms and hands, and Allen's head snapped back a little. Ref ASSUMED he was hit in the noggin.

Illinois State Redbirds close their regular season winning 4 of 5 games (2 over top 15 teams in SDSU and WIU) as they absolutely dominate the MSU Bears by shutting them out 37-0. ISU is playing at a high level right now and have showed they deserve a shot in the FCS playoffs.

The Birds can definitely make some noise in the playoffs with the way they are playing right now. GO BIRDS!

VMI "held" The Citadel to 233 yards rushing (Citadel's starting slot backs didn't play), but about 150 were in the 2nd half. Citadel also had a 2 play, 78 yard drive, two passes (70 & 8) yards, for their 3rd period TD.

Samford earned the win today. Ran up 21 quick points early. Mercer players gave it everything they had. Russ (QB) had over 35 carries in addition to all his pass attempts. Amazing effort. Turning point was with 1:00 to go, 2nd and 7 from Samford 19, Mercer calls timeout and sends 12 players out on the field. Couldn't recover from that penalty.

This game was exactly what I expected- VMI played inspired D and largely shut us down. VMI had success with some trick plays but ultimately our D was largely successful. It came down to is getting back to our bread and butter in the 4th quarter and resisting the urge to throw the ball. Another great game between these two schools.

BTW- SoCon refs still suck. Some bad calls went both ways but the worst one was that targeting against VMI that got a defensive player ejected. I saw the play and it looked like shouldpads to legs. I havent watched the vid yet, but a lot of fans around me agreed it was a bad call.

10-0 and not wondering if we will get a playoff bid feels great after so many years in the wilderness.
