I nominate top 15 Youngstown State Penguins at top 5 North Dakota State University Bison.

Both teams are tied with South Dakota State for first in the MVFC. The winner continues its quest for a MVFC championship and for NDSU a top 2 seed for the playoffs.

Basically for all the marbles in the SOCON.

Cid wins, it takes auto bid and likely goes undefeated in SOCON. Samford wins, then we have three way tie in SOCON with round robin loses between Cid, UTC and Samford.

One of the best FCS passing games against one of the best FCS running games. It will be a great game no matter what. Stadium is basically sold out. The parts that are open:(

Pubela is a pretty cool place, I didn't even know that any Mexican universities played American Football.

I actually took a graduate class at Universidad De Las Americas during a summer session. As you said, Puebla is a very cool town with lots of European Spanish cultural influence and architecture.

Another thing to consider with the JMU/UR game. JMU wants blood. They lost Vad Lee and a College Game Day game last year to UR and gave up a program worst 59 points. We have a chip on our shoulder.
Last time we were at the bread box, we drubbed UR 55-20 with two pick sixes and another two fumbles. Their fans were being out cheered in their own stadium by JMU fans throughout and by the 3rd quarter, it was pretty much just JMU fans remaining. It was pitiful. Expect more of that this year. Their admin has been actively trying to find ways to keep JMU fans from buying tickets.

I'm deciding between JMU/UR and EWU/CP. Can someone convince me as to why I should vote for EWU/CP? What's on the line?

A win by Eastern Washington sets them up for a top 2 seed, a share (depends on what UND does) of the Big Sky title. A win by Cal Poly moves them into a seed IMHO (Cal Poly is 62- with losses to Nevada in OT and at UND 31-24). A win by Cal Poly and a loss by UND makes a 3 way tie atop the Big Sky.

Good enough justification?

I am not saying Cal Poly-EWU is bigger just what is at stake.

Even if Cal Poly loses to EWU but beats Weber State and Northern Colorado they will finish 8-3 and should be a lock for the playoffs considering they beat Montana who would also be in a similar boat.

I disagree. If one believes there are two (or three) really good matchups that deserve GOTW consideration then they should vote for those games. The hope is they are doing it with love in their heart. Malicious intent is not acceptable.

JMU vs UR will decide the CAA winner and likely Top 5 seed whereas El Cid can lose to Samford and still win the SoCon with the 3 way tie at the end. So I think that one has just as much if not more at stake. That said, I still voted for El Cid VS Samford.

Oh, nothing against your pick...it's absolutely valid. It's a huge game for the conference and could be a big game for playoff seeding. My qualm was that you posted it ~4 hours after the nomination process was closed. Once the poll is posted, no further "seconds" are counted.
