Time flies when you're having fun. We're about to start the home stretch of the season, as we are now half way through most league schedules, with only 3-4 games remaining in the year for the majority of teams.

Perfection: No changes to the undefeated teams this week as #4 Sam Houston and #5 The Citadel move to 7-0 on the season. Both teams played a lower division school at some point this season though, so they still haven't reached that magical seven D1 win mark we all watch for.

Still moving backwards is Austin Peay at 0-7, Delaware State at 0-7, and Mississippi Valley State at 0-8. Abilene Christian breaks into the win column with a win over Incarnate Word and Bethune-Cookman gets a win over Norfolk State, so they can hold their heads high this week.

Razors Edge: A few really close games this week. #5 The Citadel needed overtime to get the 24-21 win at #25 Wofford. #24 South Dakota edged #35 Illinois State 27-24 at home. #28 Harvard also went the overtime route, defeating unranked Princeton on the road 23-20. #32 Weber State scored 23 unanswered points to overcome #33 Southern Utah on the road in a 37-36 final.

Punching Tickets: Still too early to officially call anything, but #7 Richmond becomes the first team with seven D1 wins, and with three Top 25 victories and an FBS win already in their pocket, they could be the first lock. Their remaining schedule includes games against William & Mary (3-4) and Delaware (2-5), so there's no reason to think they can't add at least one more win to that total before the season ends.

There are quite a few teams with six D1 wins and a chance to get that seventh next week:
#1 Eastern Washington will get a chance when they take on #9 Montana
#3 North Dakota State will go for seven against Northern Iowa
#4 Sam Houston State faces Texas Southern
#5 The Citadel gets East Tennessee at home
#6 James Madison takes on Rhode Island
#10 Chattanooga travels to Western Carolina
#15 Central Arkansas heads to Southeastern Louisiana
#16 North Dakota has #32 Weber State at home
#23 Lehigh takes on a streaking #39 Fordham
#31 Sacred Heart faces St. Francis

Under The Radar - "S" Edition: A few more under the radar teams for this week that don't appear on the HTF sheet. Again, this is not advocating for any specific team, just a few teams that are trending in the right direction.
San Diego: The Toreros have won five straight games, their only loss of the season was on the road against #14 Cal Poly, and they are ranked #46 in Sagarin and #41 in Massey (prior to their win today, subject to movement tomorrow). They handed Dayton their only conference loss of the season, and this coming week will try to do the same to Marist to try to take sole possession of the conference lead.

Southeastern Louisiana: After a 1-3 start, the Lions were left for dead, but they've reeled off three straight victories to sit at 4-1 in the Southland Conference. October 29th they take on #15 Central Arkansas and still have a shot at the conference title if the chips fall the right way. They'll be underdogs against the Bears, but should be favored the rest of the season, and could make it to seven D1 wins no matter how they play this coming Saturday.

Southern: The Southern Jaguars have their fourth straight win, to move to 4-0 against FCS competition. Their two losses are both to FBS competition, they've never scored fewer than three touchdowns in a game this season, and have beaten their FCS opponents by an average of 30.5 points per game.

St. Francis: The Red Flash have won four straight games, three against FCS competition, and are undefeated in the NEC headed into their match-up with #31 Sacred Heart. They do have three losses, including a bad one at Towson, but they held their own in road games against #9 Montana (lost by 10), and #22 Albany (lost by 11), so keep an eye on the scoreboard next weekend to see what they can show against the Pioneers.

we don't play Richmond this week. their fans just decided to start a thread about the game two weeks early, for some reason.

If Southeastern Louisiana loses this weekend to UCA but happens to win out they will fall under the same fate as UCA last year. Left out with 7 division I wins.

UCA and Sam Houston appear to be in control of the SLC.

Unless the commitee chooses to put in 3 teams from a weak SLC conference, even a 7-4 SLU team will be sitting at home. But win out and SLU gets the drivers spot.

It's called "planning ahead".

I took a little time this week to look at how far teams in my poll for last week deviated from the AGS and/or Stats rankings. I more closely scrutinized teams with the most deviation. In some cases, I am still convinced I have teams where they belong. In other cases, I adjusted a few teams in my top ten up or down based on my review rather than strictly based on how they did on Saturday.

Sagarin, Massey, & SOS have been updated.

Also, since I mentioned San Diego's ratings in the Under The Radar section, they moved from #46 Sagarin/#41 Massey to #35/#36.
