#16 Albany @ Maine
- Despite loss, Danes proved they're legit to me. Bears will have to actually defend a pass this week, which could be too much.
#6 James Madison @ #24 New Hampshire
- Dukes and Wildcats both underwhelmed this weekend, but I put that more on the weather. I think JMU will have to look out for a game vs Wildcats, just not these ones.
Towson @ Dartmouth
- Somehow, the Big Green beat UNH. They look like they should be no problem for the Tigers now.
#13 Villanova @ #8 Richmond
- Wildcats have been rolling, granted against teams that seem to be inferior (other than Lehigh). Spiders have been tight still, momentum carries Nova.
Delaware @ William & Mary
- I don't see Hens winning again this year, which means I go with the Tribe.
Rhode Island @ Stony Brook
- Seawolves still have somewhat of a shot at playoffs, take advantage of Rams to increase their odds.

I haven't been picking this season, but IMO, UNH/JMU will be a game this week at home. JMU should win but UNH is very hard to beat at home and pretty good against the run. Should be interesting.

We have lost three consecutive against UNH and haven't beaten UNH since 2007. UNH also hasn't played in Harrisonburg since 2010, with this being the third consecutive meeting in Durham.

We're favored on paper, but this is essentially a toss-up as far as i'm concerned, especially with our poor defense. You all will have a season high offensive performance.

Idk. For the first time in recent history UNH's defense is outplaying our offense.

There really is a lot of parity this year. I guess I would put JMU and Villanova the two top teams but not by much. If our QB played the 2nd half against JMU like he did against the Hens we get a W, had the lead going into the 4th quarter. Our game with Albany is homecoming and I don't see us losing if we get the QB play like last w/e.

UNH may have the most significant home field advantage in the CAA, but I don't view this game as a toss-up. Even factoring in that the game is in Durham, NH, JMU should be a 7-8 point favorite.

I can't disagree with Massey. JMU should be able to take care of UNH and we're showing that we're a team that fights on both sides of the ball. VU/UR is really a toss-up but I just think VU has looked more unstoppable than UR so far this season and that is my only difference.

I'm not sure about Towson @ Dartmouth. The Tigers played strong in the first half against SB without Darrius Victor; however. in the 2nd half after losing their #2 RB, Shane Simpson, they really seemed to flounder. QB Ellis Knudson can contribute effectively with a strong RB in there with him, I'm not sure he and the Towson passing attack can carry that offense. The two offensive weapons that led to predictions of CAA top 3-4 and an appearance in the playoffs are now out for the season: Victor and QB Morgan Mahalak. Any comments from the Towson supporters?

There's a ton of frustration coming from Towson fans, myself included. Quite frankly, it's demoralizing to see your #1 weapon (Vito) and someone who has the potential to be "the guy" at QB (Mahalak) go down with injuries. It doesn't help that very few of us have much faith in Ellis' ability to win us games. There's also a growing number of fans calling for the heads of both our OC and our DC and I can't say that I disagree. Our play calling is relatively ineffective and vanilla; no one is scared of our offense and our D consistently gets burned. Unfortunately, the OC is Rob Ambrose's younger brother so I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon. I'd also be surprised to see Rob make the call to axe the DC either. With the team in its current state, I wouldn't bet on us. I'll still take us in the pick 'em because I'm naive and a homer, but I won't be at all shocked if we lose this game.

On the bright side, Mahalak has two years of eligibility remaining after this year (unless I'm mistaken) and we just landed a B1G transfer receiver. Some of our younger recruits/commits have given us reason to be excited so hopefully the next few seasons will be more successful than this year. In any case, I'll still be out at Unitas cheering on my Tigers no matter how bad they're playing.

I don't think some people realize how good James Madison is.

If a team can defend the run well, we will struggle. Schor has been decent in his passing game but not a world beater so far, especially with the long pass that he usually over throws.

Our defense is our weakness but they appear to be improving statistically from last year. However, we have yet to get to the meat of our CAA schedule for a truly apples to apples comparison.

That's the only reason I think UNH has a chance. UNH has been very good agains the run this year. Every year the league favorite drops a game they shouldn't lose and often it's been at UNH. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we're better than JMU. I'm just counting on past anomalies repeating themselves. Sometimes being young and dumb actually plays to your advantage : )

Our O-line has performed well though and Adbullah and Johnson are having outstanding years. If they perform to their usual efficiency, JMU should win. Sell out to stop the run and hope your secondary doesn't keep giving up mid-range passing plays in the middle of the field.

I don't think some people realize how good James Madison is.

I watched JMU play against North Carolina, when they went toe to toe on offense for awhile -- they ran against UNC, I think they'll run against us, but strange things tend to happen in Durham. I thought JMU struggled against Kendall Anderson at times and giving up 24 points to that terrible W&M offense is pretty surprising.

UNH controls the clock (they've had 60% of the possession each of their last three games) and generally does a decent job against the run (but they still give up big plays -- Kendall anderson broke a big chunk off against them two weeks ago). The JMU QB will be able to throw down field if he wants to so a lot will be dependent on how much JMU wants to play their style of offense. Here's the thing -- UNH turned the ball over twice vs. Elon, three times vs. W&M, and a bunch vs. Rhode Island. They won all three games. They will not be that fortunate against JMU. If they can limit the turnovers I think they can win this game -- if they play like they have each of the last three weeks, they will lose by double digits, IMO.

Is anyone else reminiscing over W&M/Maine 2003 with this Florida/LSU dustup?

Eerily similar... Hurricane Isabel hit Williamsburg, W&M wasn't going to be able to host. Maine offered to assume all costs to get W&M to Orono, and donate all game proceeds to hurricane relief, or play the game in Richmond. W&M couldn't logistically do it.

At the time, it seemed like Maine was going to need that win to get to 8 and make the playoffs (a late season stinker at Northeastern made it irrelevant). The A-10's solution was to not play, give Maine a win, but not W&M a loss.

They did it, the wikipedia article on that W&M season says the presidents decided it because of Maine's efforts to play the game while recognizing that W&M wasn't going to be able to do much that weekend anywhere. NCAA doesn't recognize the win. I think Isabel came onshore Thursday night that week, so W&M would have had to evacuate to Orono (or neutral site) pretty early in the week. I'm surprised that Richmond played a home game that Saturday.

Yeah those were the days of the hard 8 win rule for the playoffs. Maine was doing everything short of offering to play a doubleheader on W&M's bye week to get that game in. The schedule looked like there was a really good chance that without the W&M game Maine would be stuck on 7-3. Didn't end up mattering.

#6 James Madison @ #24 New Hampshire- UNH with the upset of the season so far
Towson @ Dartmouth - Towson in a close one
#13 Villanova @ #8 Richmond - Southern Wildcats are too healthy compared to UR
Delaware @ William & Mary- snoozefest game of the week

You do have the largest stadium capacity of the home games this weekend, and nicer weather than the other games besides Richmond, so give yourself a high five I guess...... I'm sure if richmond sat 15k they would pack it in for this nova game.

Nicer weather? That's weak. Where exactly is all this bad weather elsewhere.

And your delusional if you think UR and Nova would pack a crowd like that. They will be lucky to have 8,000 fans in the seats, regardless of what's reported.

Stadium size is also irrelavant. We are talking about selling tickets, you know, interest in a game.

Sorry let me be more specific, regardless of how good a team is at any level of football its generally harder to fill seats when its 40 and rainy at say michigan state than 80 degrees at florida state in November. People get lazy watch the game inside, not a good excuse for any "fan" but reality. Is that a fair statement? Not that Umaine vs Ualbany could draw more than W&M home games but I can bet money some people and students don't go to that game because its "chilly" when they went to previous games when it was nicer. not that the weather is going to be bad here but whats easier getting students to go to an outside game when its 70 and sunny or 50? Ill extend an olive branch and agree weather regardless of how you put is is never a strong argument.

Also UR has sold out its 8700k stadium ever since it opened for every game if I'm not mistaken, Im sure if it was 11k they would fill it.

How is stadium size not relevant you old fart? I know places sell more tickets (UNH) than seating knowing some people wont come in from tailgate and want to make extra money. So UR should just sell as many tickets as possible for "you know, interest in a game" regardless if people get mad because there is no where to sit. Their 8700k stadium is actually full every game so I'm sure if they did sell way more tickets people would get mad. Also if its about interest in a game lol and total amount of tickets sold than UNH has sold more tickets from just homecoming regardless of how many made it to the stadium in the pooring rain that W&M has sold in its first two games lol. I really am confused you talk about more attended, and say selling tickets overall, then say 8k for Richmond REGARDLESS of whats reported....... so its not about tickets sold but but you say it is in the original comment?

You guys are a historic school with a good following of loyal fans that I hope would pack it in. Also UNH had 13k for their opener, you guys had 10k. If you want I can show you pictures so you believe me. I am really happy you guys have a loyal following that will pack in the stadium regardless of the teams record as well as who you are playing. You started the snarkyness just because I said this game was a snoozefest IMO two teams under 500 with no real answer to their problems as of yet. IF another game has more "tickets you know, interest in a game" sold I'm going to DM you a troll face every day for the next week

that and honestly who gives a **** CAA games besides some UD and JMU (minus URI) are all 7-11k anyways.

#16 Albany @ Maine - 12 PM - WVII/Maine All-Access ($) -- Maine's tough at home; think this will be tight.
#6 James Madison @ #24 New Hampshire - 12 PM - ASN -- I'm a homer and it means more to UNH right now.
Towson @ Dartmouth - 1:30 PM - ILDN -- Dartmouth is a decent team and this is a long trip.
#13 Villanova @ #8 Richmond - 3:30 PM - CSN -- Game of the week; I don't trust Richmond's consistency.

No they wouldn't. They routinely call games sellouts when the stadium is at best 1/3 full. Their turnout for the Towson game looked like 20% full from photos yet it was listed at 8700, 100% capacity. No one cares about UR.

when youre right, youre right. we often sell all our tickets, but a lot of that is old-ass richmond fans who have season tickets and come to like one game. Getting on campus just isnt worth it for a lot of people, and the stadium regularly looks like this. as we've all said, the on-campus stadium was and is a failure. we used to get 15-20k for big games at City. Even the students showed up, if you can believe it.

Remember though, "apparently" its about tickets sold, you know, interest in a game, and stadium capacity doesn't matter regardless if a game was actually full and they couldn't sell more tickets

but when you are right you're right, 8700 sold prolly only 6k in the entire stadium for that game.

Oh yeah, I'm not trying to say that WE had 20k there. Just that the games were packed and that UR stadium had more appeal then (and the spiders had more fans). The App St game in 09 was a sellout of like 23k! So much fun.

I need to start making up some ground...

Maine 27 Albany 20 - I'll take Maine to pull a minor upset imo. The Danes are coming off a tough loss to Richmond which might have some lingering effects...

UNH 41 JMU 31 - UNH is extremely difficult to beat at home. With that said, JMU might win this one by 30 given the Wildcats performance against Elon last week....

Towson 31 Dartmouth 17 - Can the Big Green go 2-0 against the CAA this year? Not if they play like they did against Yale last week. I think Towson's physicality will wear Dartmouth down. Great weekend to be in Hanover, NH though!!

Villanova 27 Richmond 24 - I like Talley and the Wildcats in this spot even though they're on the road. I don't think 'Nova is getting the respect they deserve this year...

Delaware 30 W&M 21 - The "Enigma Bowl"! The two biggest CAA underachievers battle out. The Tribe seem to be rudderless lately. I'll take the Blue Hens to pull one out on the road...

Stony Brook 31 URI 6 - The Seawolves are a solid team. URI is a terrible team....

Albany 14 @ Maine 21. Black Bears peaking

James Madison 24 @ New Hampshire 25. Home field and Homer pick. JMU "fumblitis" details superior run game and leads to upset of the week.

Towson 24 @ Dartmouth 27. Big Green go to 2-0 vs CAA

Villanova 28 @ Richmond 31. Home team rejoices.

Delaware 10 @ William & Mary 14. For two teams going the wrong way, the home field advantage is enough

Rhode Island 3 @ Stony Brook 28. Those has their W for the year.

you're saying UNH will win by double digits, or JMU will blow UNH out. so essentially you're giving yourself a 40 point cushion. I guess i'll agree...? it will be somewhere between UNH winning by 10 and JMU winning by 30. that works for me.

my other picks:

Albany
