I am not going to say it was overlooking necessarily. I think it was the distractions. When mentally prepared to play a game on Saturday, at home, and then all of a sudden, you get 2 days less, and its changed to an away game and you now have to stay at a summer game to boot..... They really lacked energy on the sidelines. No umph at all. But credit to NGU, they really have a good QB. I knew they were an offensive machine and now I saw why. Took a while for our D to settle in but when they did we shut them down. Also we could have/should have scored at least 3 more times on O for sure. I really have to find the replay and see the penalty on the int with no time left at the end of the 1st half.

They have a really nice facility and the NGU folks were all very nice. There was huge turnout for the Dogs. I think the attendance was about 5K over all.

I was looking at the INT and not what was going on with their QB. He was down and apparently our guy was blocking him while he was on the ground as he tried to get up and tackle DD.

The 1st Q was a struggle and Steckle had an plan and it worked, but Klieman made his adjustments and now it will be interesting to see is MoSt can find the gaps in the secondary. But the problem is, not being able to run on this D allows NDSU to rush 3 and 4 and force them to beat them through the air. Gives NDSU some more game time situations for what lies ahead next week.

Offense scored 63 points (and fumbled twice) in less than 19 minutes. D was on the field all night. D played like **** on top of that too. I hope this is the yearly **** game that we usually lose. I'm honestly not concerned. The Kats are just trying to make it out of conference play unscathed and so far it hasn't really been competitive for more than a quarter.

With the speed of the offense and the number of possessions given to opposing Os, the Kats will never have great stats on D....But that's all most AGSers know about the Kats and the SLC.

After watching the SIU/SDSU game, the ball should have no trouble moving the ball on the ground. Pound the ball and keep the Jack offense on the sideline. Stick is good enough in the passing game to move the chains if the Jacks continually stack the box.

IMO the DL is definitely better, we're way deeper and LBs are as good as it's been since then. The back end needs work but they're fairly young and getting inconsistently better.

The O is way better than AGSers give it credit for. Easily the best in the FSC and that's no disrespect the JMUs and EWUs of the division. It's just that good and deep. Lightyears ahead of what we've had in the past. Becuase of this, the D is on the field for an llllloooooooongggggggg time and it shows at times. Still need to get better though.

Two very good defenses in that game!!!
Yeah,our current defense isn't that, while there are individuals who would have started on that D, overall it's not as good. To me the biggest difference is the secondary. To be fair this offense isn't the same. Last night we scored 63 points in less than 19 minutes time of possession. The game was off to the typical start, blowout and over by half, but the D shot themselves in the foot with penalties, botched punt defense. Throw in a fumble and uiw was in the game longer than they should have been. Hopefully it was just one of those games, time will tell.

No it was just a multitude of penalties, botched punt and turnovers. Kinda reminded me of our playoff game except our offense was not affected except for the turnovers. I'll give them credit though. Their qb is really good. Found out that he played against Texas state even though he had been sick and wasn't able to hold anything down for 36 hours prior to the game. Had them in the lead but he wasn't able to play in the second half of that game.
