Richmond holds onto to win 38-31. Very good showing by Colgate overall. They let it get away from them for a few minute but then charged right back.

Still would have been nice to get a CAA scalp in the regular season....

Congrats to the Gate, very impressed, very good team. Spiders still experimenting with the running games since we lost Gordo for the season. Some things workded today, need more consistency.

0-6 this year which is quite disappointing given Year 4 of scholarships. Top performances go to Lehigh and Colgate. Still a fighting chance for two playoff bids with Colgate and Fordham.

Extremely disappointing performance by the PL against the CAA. Hell, the NEC was able to get a CAA scalp! Perhaps the league will step up in the playoffs again...

Lehigh will have a chance at 8-3 IF they earn a league co-championship imo. A lot would depend one what goes on around the country obviously.

UR again displayed poor special teams and miserable play calling in 4th quarter. Rocco has to address special teams failures that are present since Legg has been coordinator. CAA is much weaker than believed and UR highly overrated.

Interesting that, so far at least, Richmond has taken a step back from last year whereas Western Illinois has taken a big step forward.

Coincidence???

WIU has taken step up and probably because of new HC. Cannot say UR has taken step back but certainly not a step up. Miss running back, o line still weak, and special teams the same inept coach. UR struggled early last season when Lauletta had no run game.

And where did WIU's head coach come from?

Happy for coach but big loss to UR. New OC is impressive early but special teams are killing Spiders. Should have easily beat Colgate bot ST performance made it a ballgame. KO return and blocked punt led to 14 points from returns.

I believe the WIU coach was the offensive coordinator for UR last season. He was a loss, but our new OC is John Garrett. He is pretty good. (Incidentally, John Garrett is the brother of Jason Garrett, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.)

John, Judd and Jason Garrett all played for Princeton in 1987, I believe. They were all born fairly close together. Jimmy Garrett and his wife were clearly busy parents back in the day! Not to mention having three growing boys/ball players to feed.

Richmond was 3-1 last year, too. Not sure where the step back was? They laid an egg against an enigmatic conference opponent on the road, whose coach has had our coach's number for years back to the Big South.
Other than losing a stud running back to graduation (and this year's RB1 to injury), there's no significant drop-off. I like the look of this year's secondary much better.
