Tennessee Tech's Dontez Byrd was named National Specialist of the Week by STATS after returning a kick 100 yards for a touchdown and finishing the Mercer game with 227 all-purpose yards. Jacksonville State moved up to No. 3 in the FCS Top 25 while Eastern Illinois made its season debut in the polls at No. 16/18.
