Holy Cross' Brendan Flaherty tweaked his hamstring against Morgan State, and only played half of the first game. Against UNH, he played in just the first series.

Peter Pujals (HC QB) should probably be added to the list.

Also, I don't know if it's factored in, but David Jones returned a punt for a TD on Saturday.

Richmond QB should be on this list.

I agree with this, Lauletta might be the best pocket passer in the country. Also just from a statistical stand point Gage Gubrud should also be on the list, IMO.

Thoughts on LB Joel McCandless?

13 Tackles

He's been doing a good job directing traffic on defense for us.

I think Tyler Renew should be on this list as well. With 2 games against good defenses......

Yah, Gub's stats are ridiculous and that was against an FBS team and NDSU both on the road.

Thoughts on Sophomore Steve McShane...or we just haven't played any good defenses yet (Eastern Illinois and Northern Arizona)?

2 games played, 362 rushing yards (181 yards per game) on 52 carries (6.96 yards per carry), 4 TDs (2 per game)
Also, 62 receiving yards on 5 catches (12.4 yards per catch).

Gubrud was really impressive. The way he moved in the pocket, scramble out and kept his eyes down field and is also mobile.

He is legit.

Really don't understand how you leave the Nation's second leading rusher off of the list...

Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks:

50 Carries
286 yards (4 yards lost)
Net yards: 282
Avg Yards Per Carry: 5.6
TD's: 4
Long: 33 yds

He accounts for over 50% of Albany's offense, in wins over a CAA team and an FBS squad, albeit where either finish in their season's.
We also have next to ZERO QB production.

The guy is the whole dang offense...and he's only a Sophomore.

Agreed. Not a legitimate list when you leave the Nation's leading rusher off of the list. And EIU and NAU are not chopped liver.

Richmond peeps, relax, he said he's going to change his list in a couple weeks. This was based on pre-season, I assume?

Clearly Lauletta (and several other QBs) have better numbers than Bailey.

ETA: And other peeps criticizing him for not including "leading XXX"...

They are technically FCS independents. I was not going to include them but technically they are FCS for one more year.

If he keeps it up then when I make changes in two weeks I will swap Flaherty for Pujals.

I think STATS is likely to update their list in 2 weeks as well.

I was going to make that change when I update in two weeks if things keep up. These were what I had in the preseason. I don't think it is fair to make changes before everyone has played a few games. Ivy League does not even start until this week.

See some folks can read LOL. Most of the names are doing well. Only about 3 or 4 on each list who don't look good as of now. About 80% of the names are doing very well.

Would echo having Devlin Hodges from Samford on the list. Just some added context, going back to last year, in his last five games he has 15 TDs against only 2 INT's.

Granted the WR did a lot of work on this play and the camera angle doesn't really do the play justice, but this was an example of how Hodges can make something out of nothing:

Gage Gubrud: 60-80 924 yards 75% 9 TD 4 Int 199.1 rating.

I could put up some pretty solid numbers (throwing underhanded) to that receiving corps. His numbers will look ridiculous all year. The 4 INTs (although not bad in a TD ratio or per attempt) in two games is a bit of a flag, and probably what is keeping him off the list....he will be there soon though.

Hanks made an incredible run in the URI game. He ran right into a wall of defenders, reversed course and looped around left cutting through tackles for a TD. Truly impressive. And for a smaller guy, he craves contact.
