Let's go the other direction.

Exhibit A: Tribe wins in Charlottesville; W&M 26, UVA 14

Tribe leading 19-14 with 2 minutes to go - UVA driving for potential game winning score - until this (3rd clip):

Any win over fbs is heart stopping. Seeing their fans get served a slice of humble pie is always rewarding.
21-16 is a score that will never be forgotten among the Dukes faithful, even if Chokie fans try their best to act like they forgot about it.
Beating smu was also sweet. It's just tough to find their fans to talk smack to. It's almost like they don't exist.

We also beat UVA in 1982 (they haven't agreed to schedule us since). We beat navy in consecutive years in 1989 and 1990. Those were both before my time.

Portland State's win last year over Washington State was truly heartstopping. Having the lead with seconds to go and Cougars hot shot QB, Falk, is leading them down for a tying touchdown. Third and long, he scrambles and we play him to slide short of the first down. He hurdles the defender to make the first down, only to get slightly injured and has to come out for one play. In comes their backup who throws the ball and we intercept it. We get flagged for celebration (wouldn't you celebrate your first win over the Pac-12 ever??!) and line up in victory formation, only to find out they are reviewing the play. Heartstopping, yes, because with the celebration penalty and Falk back in, Wazzu had only about 35 yards left for the TD and time for one more play. But, the officials confirmed the INT and the rest was history. xthumbsupx

While I disagree that all FCS over FBS wins are heart-stoppers (See Portland State's dismantling of North Texas, or NDSU's stomping Central Michigan), I did find the NDSU take-down of Kansas St to be a heart stopper.

Rare to have a FCS team come from behind, and basically out-muscle the FBS team. 2013 was an outstanding season for Bison.

In 2014 Yale beat Army in OT 49-43 on the strength of five rushing TD's by Tyler Varga. Army never trailed in this game but Yale kept coming back. Army had a chance to win at the end of regulation but they missed a field goal. They then missed another chip shot field goal in OT setting up this winning TD for Yale. Video includes FCS game call at the end. This was the best game of my life.

This one wasn't heart stopping because it was a close game because we beat them down from whistle to whistle. It was heart stopping because it was our first though. And to add to the suspense was the fact that Wyoming is a joke and had no video available for the game so I had to use iHeart Radio in my car to listen to the game. Even though WYO was pretty terrible it was a huge monkey off of our backs.

It was funny my freshman year cause in the dorm on one side of me there was a Michigan fan and on he other side there was a Michigan State fan. We were watching the MSU vs Michigan game last year and the Michigan fan kept trying to get me to side with him that Michigan State was worse than Michigan.

MSU and OSU fans may not be the best of pals but we do agree on one thing. F*** Michigan.

Obviously not as "heart-stopping" as ASU-Michigan, but our game at Northern Illinois in 2002 was pretty darn exciting.
It was a very back and forth game the whole time...NIU scored the only points in the first quarter, but in the second quarter, the scoring really opened up...WIU with a TD and a FG, then NIU with a TD, then WIU with another TD and FG. Halftime, we were up 19-14.
3rd Quarter, they get another TD, we get a FG, and they get a TD, making the score 24-22, NIU.
Early in the fourth quarter, they get a safety on us, pulling ahead 26-22.
There was a bit more back and forth without scoring, but finally, with 1:10 left in the game, Reggie Gray ran in a 5 yard TD to put us ahead 29-26, which we held on to for the win.
In the game, NIU dominated the running game with 284 total yards (vs WIU's 35 yards), nearly all from Michael Turner, but Western toasted them through the air, with Michna throwing for 382 yards on 19 completions (QB Rating of 154), mostly to WR Stacy Coleman (215 yards on 9 catches).

It was our third win in a row against the former conference foe, having won 17-0 in '96 and 27-21 in '99, although the streak would end there, with the next game (a 41-7 demolition) occurring in '99 in a season where we finished 1-10 and a Jerry Kill-led NIU finished 7-5 in the regular season before losing in the International Bowl

For NIU, the game featured future NFL player Michael Turner running for 282 yards and 3 TDs on 29 attempts.
For WIU, the game included future longtime NFL punter Mike Scifres, future AFL stars Russ Michna (QB) and Reggie Gray (WR), as well as 2-time Buchanan Award finalist, Lee Russel (LB).

It was a pretty exciting game for those of us who made the trip up to see it.

Villanova's win over Temple in 2009 was a pretty epic game. First, this is a legit rivalry despite the different classifications. Secondly, both teams were damn good. 'Nova would go on to win the national title while Temple finished 9-4.

Villanova kicked a FG with no time left to win the game 27-24. Temple had a 10 pt 4th quarter lead but couldn't hold it. There were some epic gag moments by our QB iirc.

SDSU's win over Kansas last year was heart stopping because they damn near choked away a 31-7 first half lead. Up by three with Kansas driving and their qb fumbled the snap to spike it. That would have set up a game tying field goal to go to OT. Talk about a heart attack.

You should have been at the game. SHSU is on OFFENSE. The Bison contingent of course is yelling there azzes off. But wait--the SHSU fans see-hear this and they dont want to be outdone. Sooooooo they try to out yell the Bison fans while their team is on OFFENSE. When the Bison fans realize this they get louder with SHSU following suit. Delaware's 59-52 win over Navy in 2007 comes to mind because no one could stop one another all afternoon. Flacco threw for 434 yards and 4 TDs. Navy would go on to beat Notre Dame the following week and run off 4 straight wins to finish the season 8-4.

Delaware's 21-17 win again over Navy in 2003 was the true definition of heart stopping as UD knocked down a pass in the endzone on the final play. UD would go on to win the National title that year and Navy finished the season 8-4.

Even after losing their 5 games vs FBS teams, Delaware still holds a winning record (15-14) over FBS opponents. They have another chance to add to that number this year at Wake Forest.

god I would love if he had done a post game video.

He did kind of a post game when he did the pregame for the rain cajun game. He talked about NDSU quite a bit.

I won't do this to myself. It will be time I cannot get back.

There is an EWU video titled "Cheny". I warn all, do NOT YouTube. It is not worth the curiosity.

I looked and can't find it. Link?

To be fair when they were making this the Call Me Maybe video thing was a huge deal. Like other college teams, Olympians, maybe even pro teams were making videos. So I give them a little break on this.

I love that someone is actually taping this for him. Couldn't find a tripod or anything. Especially when the camera man is just making a ton of noise during the video too.

Being that 90% of the US has HSV... it's pretty likely.

What is the herpes simplex virus? Some people call it a cold sore, others a fever blister, but this annoying and often painful chronic condition is caused by a virus: herpes simplex. About 50% to 80% of U.S. adults have oral herpes. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), by age 50, about 90% of adults have been exposed to the virus. Once infected, a person will have the herpes simplex virus for the rest of his or her life. When inactive, the virus lies dormant in a group of nerve cells. Some people never have any symptoms from the virus. Others have periodic outbreaks of infections.

Temple needs to schedule Fordham again to gain some payback. We were truly terrible that year while that was perhaps your best team since '02.

Fordham will get a vastly superior test than those two opponents this year against Navy. If you guys keep it respectable I'll be impressed. I think the Rams and Mountain Hawks are both going to get their butts kicked in Annapolis...

i wouldn't bet us to win either, but i think we've got a better than even chance to make a great game out of it.

navy has been decimated via graduation, having lost most of their best players, including QB, entire O line... pretty much everyone save 1 WR on offense and their leading tackler and top pass rusher on D.

we are returning 18/22, including most of our best, like starting QB, RB, WR corps, only 1 lineman lost, entire D pretty much intact.

we have a very good chance of making a close game of it, and an outside shot at a win. lehigh oth, not so sure about.

Navy has been able to reload for the last decade. When Niumatalolo decided to return the fortunes of the Middies this year immediately changed. I'll take their talent base and a proven coaching staff over a fringe FCS Top 25 team rather easily. Having to defend that offense, especially, in the heat is a nightmare. Going against the Navy OL also can lead to injuries to DL. Just a brutal team to play...

nationalsportsrankings.com, the site a bunch of us were playing around on a few weeks back, has Navy winning 94 times out of 100 versus Fordham. I agree with Go Lehigh -- unless Fordham's defense is immensely improved or get lucky with a ridiculous turnover margin, the Mids score at least 42 points. Navy has seamlessly replaced every QB going back to Craig Candeto graduating in 2004. I see this game being about 48-21.
