Fisher DeBerry, Wofford grad and former assistant coach at Wofford and ASU retired from The Air Force Academy yesterday.

He graduated in 1960 so that should make him about 68.

Ironic timing, considering ASU was playing for the title yesterday. DeBerry was a great coach as a Wofford and ASU assistant and the Air Force head coach. He was an offensive innovator. His players from the 1970s at App speak volumes of praise about him. A lot of ASU alums were livid when Jim Brakefield resigned that the school chose the irraciable Mike Working as his replacement (someone told me yesterday about a Watauga Democrat article that was headlined something lie this: Appalchian State isn't Working), instead of DeBerry.

As you likely know, he was commonly referred to as Mike "It Ain't' Working.
