As with other PL schools, this review may be incomplete. Official signing list has been updated; now includes 20 recruits (and the two new recruits are a kicker and a running back, directly affecting the distribution score). Release also indicates one more recruit will be added later.

As if Chuck's (er, committee) job isn't hard enough.

I seem to remember Gate had a similar issue last year that was never addressed, much to the chagrin of the Red Raiders... pissed them off to such an extent that they hammered the rest of the league just to prove a point. The Cross & Bucknell should be thanking the Committee for providing them with motivation!

A kicker from Wyoming! Nice. I'll update the ratings.

49-42 against LU is hammering someone? (and, LU came within 5 yards of tying)

c'mon gate fan get real. the ONLY PL game gate hammered anyone was Cross (31 - 14)

other than that All were close 17 - 13 4pts over GU, 31 - 29 2pts over FU (and gate almost lost) 14 -10 4pts over Bucknell and a decent margin of 9 over LC at 28 - 19

Gate was very fortunate to have LU, FU and BU at home, this year they are all away.

And we should recall that HC was leading that game, 14-10 at the start of the 4th quarter. Colgate was able to come from behind and some poor HC play, including an interception, made the final score somewhat misleading.

getting routed in the 2nd half / 4th Q on your home turf is pathetic. Cross was hammered!

The Colgate-Holy Cross game was an interesting one. Colgate was able to move the ball very well the entire game but made big mistakes anytime they were close to scoring. Colgate was losing in the 4th and seemed ready to give the game away--it was certainly Holy Cross' game to win. Colgate had lost 8 out of 9 at that point and looked like a team that didn't know how to win--they had given up a ton of second half leads during Hunt's first year and a half. Colgate made plays in the 4th and Holy Cross made mistakes and Colgate won. There were some key 4th down conversions and stops for Colgate in that really could have changed the game and Colgate's season.

Colgate didn't blow out anybody in the PL last year. They played very smart football and made very few mistakes and made defensive stops when they were needed. Colgate will be rightfully picked to win the PL next year but just about anybody can win it. HC certainly can. They have won the first half of the every game they have played against Colgate for the past decade and always have a ton of good players. Amazing how quickly many here have written off Fordham. They have incredible skill players and were young last year. Teams very rarely repeat in the PL. Hopefully everybody wins some out-of-conference games so a few teams make the playoffs.

So, was trying for jest... as that's what I assume the Patsies to be. For those who would prefer something other than hammered, please substitute "eked out victories we wouldn't have otherwise gotten without the preseason angst over the original low Patsy ratings for the class of '19."

FIRST RULE OF THE PATSY'S:
YOU DO JOKE IN THE PATSY'S.

SECOND RULE OF THE PATSY'S:
YOU DO NOT JOKE ABOUT THE PATSY'S. (Even if it is just in a Patsy's thread.)

:) While the methodology of Patsy ratings is a serious attempt to provide an oblective view of recruit classes., the Patsy concept is not. It is for fun.It fills the time til. Spring practice. It is not meant to be the end of discussion Quite clearly it does not. :)

If baseball has a hot stove league, what does football have? In the PL case, is it a warm library league ?

Not sure, but I'm sure it is an old stove.

It's too bad Bogie isn't around much anymore. Back in the "good 'ol days", we would have taken this PATSY ratings thread and went into a tangent with a photo tour of Patriot League Libraries...
