Of course the picture here had to be of Nick Saban, but this is an al.com article, so that is to be tolerated I guess.xsmhx Not a report, but it does mention the FCS players by name. Our Samford kid, CB James Bradberry was measured in at 6-3, 236 pounds. Now that is some serious size for a CB.

Figured I would add this article here as it mentions more than just Deiondre' Hall from UNI.

Just to show where I got that measurement on Bradberry, it is under this picture at his weigh-in. Article is about James and his wanting to represent FCS and small school players. Hope all these guys do really well.

Be interesting to see who the second FCS player off the boards is, my suspicion is it will be another Bison.

Nope, Noah Spence may go in the first. Also heard some high praise for Miles Killebrew. Potentially first safety off the board.

Forgot about Spence, probably a good call. Don't think the character issues might make him fall a round, ie Shane Ray?
I think Joe Haeg goes before Killebrew.

Haeg out with an injury. Looked good Tuesday until he tweaked his shoulder. Spence is having a good run.

Talk of both Spence and Wentz going first round. That would be huge for FCS really.

Not to mention that their names rhyme too. This is relevant.

Wentz could commit a triple murder with an arson kicker at this point and he would probably still go top 15. The heat coming off this guy right now is incredible. Its obviously early in the process, but your starting to see credible draft sources say he goes real early like its a forgone conclusion. It will be interesting to watch how this plays out the next couple months.

This has turned into the Wentz N Spence show. Those men are making the FBS guys look like boys.

A lot of buzz about SELAs Miller yesterday and Samfords Bradberry turned some heads today.

Haeg held his own yesterday but is out the rest of the week. UNIs Hall has monkey arms but he'll have to put himself in better positions to use them.

Haven't seen much of SUUs Killebrew and SEMOs McRoberts but they both have generated some buzz about their physical build.

Please Cleveland...don't look @ Wentz.

I can settle for the Cowboys...but anything but the stupid Browns.

"Wait.... you mean to tell me that a QB can be recruited to a FCS school, stay there 5 years, and get drafted in the 1st round????"

With Noah, its not so much character issues it's his drug problem. Which isn't a problem currently, got help, stayed clean. You just have that gamble if he ever fell off the wagon. He's top 10, IMO, if he doesn't have that hanging over his head.

I like Joe and think whoever gets him will probably get a steal, but the way Miller and Bradberry are playing I think they both go before him. Thinking Killebrew will as well. That's not a knock on Haeg, just a compliment to those guys.

Harlan Miller has had two strong days so far, and is showing NFL folks what we've seen around here for four years. He's a good kid, he'll work hard and should have a pretty long NFL career if he can stay healthy.

The issue is that Spence was a superstar at Ohio State before being kicked off the team. Everyone knows that so it is not like most FCS players where he was overlooked.

You can watch him play in person on Sunday after you attend a YSU vs NDSU away game on Saturday.

Everything I have heard is that Goff is going to Cleveland. Obviously things can change.

I wouldn't be too sure about Cleveland not turning it around. They just got Hue Jackson who I am convinced will be a great head coach if given a full on opportunity to turn things around. They have some decent pieces just need to add a QB. Heck if they bring Josh Gordon back (it is a big gamble) then they really have some offensive pieces.

Agreed, they actually have a really good O-line also.

However, I've said all along that I'd actually like to see Wentz go in the later half of the first round just because if he goes in the top 10 like some of these latest projections are saying there's going to be tremendous pressure for him to start, if not on week 1, then early in his rookie season and I don't think that'll help his development given the leap in competition he's making.

Very true. Although there is at least one Top 10 team interested where he would get to sit behind a pretty good guy who was also an FCS QB.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2016/01/27/noah-spence-senior-bowl-ohio-state-eastern-kentucky/79425970/ Big mistake to pass on this young man. Every drug test that was given to the team this year, Noah volunteered and took every one of them. Passing each time. Met him at the EKU/UK game on the sidelines. Intense, focused, willing to prove himself. His motor is non stop, every play.. Team player.. wish him the best..

North Practice

http://walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2016practice4.php

Northern Iowa cornerback Deiondre' Hall has had a good week. He showed nice coverage to run with Miller on a corner post into the end zone. Hall went up and batted the pass away from Miller. Hall is a physical gritty defender, and sources say he has some Richard Sherman bulldog in him. In the 2016 NFL Draft, Hall could go on Day 2.

A prospect who has gotten some hype is Southern Utah safety Miles Killebrew. He passes the eyeball test, but as a player, he needs work. Killebrew took some false steps that left him out of position on a number of plays on Thursday. He lacks instincts and feel. Sources say that they were unimpressed with Killebrew in his team interviews as well. One source said Killebrew reminds them of Sabby Piscitelli, a busted second-round pick by Tampa Bay out of Oregon State in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Nice to see Hall have a nice day. Every day a new FCS DB has generated some buzz.

Not sure what Killebrew is doing in the interviews that has teams a little down. Seems simple, be polite, and answer the questions. Does he have any baggage?

Also, Spence hasn't been doing well in the interviews as well.

Haeg is questionable for the game on Saturday.

Stock up

Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
Wentz was the top quarterback in Mobile, and it wasn't even close. At the weigh-in, Wentz (6-5, 233) came close to his listed numbers and illustrated that he has the frame to get thicker in the NFL. In practice, Wentz improved each day and was on fire on Wednesday. He can really spin the ball with the arm to make all the throws in the NFL. His accuracy and ball placement got better each day. Wentz was in control and showed a nice starting point of footwork from working under center. Sources with Cleveland say that they like Wentz, and he's in play for the Browns at the No. 2 overall pick. Wentz's performance at the Senior Bowl reinforces the top-10 projections.

Harlan Miller, CB, South East Louisiana
Every year at the Senior Bowl, there are some small-school defensive backs who really stand out. This year ,Miller and Northern Iowa's Deiondre' Hall were impressive performers, and Miller was tops among them. Miller (6-0, 182) has quick feet and did a nice job to run with receivers and prevent separation. For the NFL, Miller will need to get stronger. If he can some weight in the months before the draft, that could help elevate his standing even further. Miller could end up being a second-day pick.

Just repeating, but UNI DB Deiondre' Hall looked really good.

He had some miss steps but thought he continued to compete and looked Really good at times. Hustle is evident. Ex. On a play that the South scored you still see him flash across the screen from the opposite side of the field to be the only guy to make an real attempt on the runner. Good stuff. MVFC.
