Let's face it, UCA's always known how to do Ugly, from that epilepsy inducing field to the Bear players...now you're finally getting the Big metrics commensurate with the Ugly metrics! ;)

Was it a rule that your mascot had to be a slang for marijuana or something?

On a related note, I bet Marshaun Coprich would kill it in that conference!

Afraid not, but that'd be hilarious to see. Declare him an eligible receiver, line him up as a TE, then just lob it over the crowd right to him.

He came to us by way of Glendale (AZ) CC. He's part of a "Phoenix connection" we'd had for quite a few years that brought a good number of quality players from Phoenix, AZ area junior colleges.

Here's the best photo I've been able to find for him. Unfortunately he's not standing up, but you can probably tell just from the size difference between him and the other guys kneeling down. He's the one on the far left:

If he was standing up, he'd have a full 2 inches of height on #70 standing behind him (he's "only" 6' 7").

We're also likely going to be getting a transfer from Iowa State. He's smaller (282 lbs, 6'4") but really good...3 stars (from rivals), also offer from Cincinnati. ISU just had too much depth at his position, played in 2 games as a Sophomore. He actually transferred primarily due to the better academic program at Western in his major.

Bison lose 3 seniors (two that saw time...all three are in bold/underlined). Haeg is a big loss, but there is a MASSIVE amount of talent for NDSU on the OL....

This is from this season's roster...sans incoming freshmen that RARELY see the field for the Bison on the OL. The guys in bold/italics/larger font are names to watch. These are my small town ND local farm kids that found out what a weight room was their redshirt years...Bacon and Volson play angry. :D Plankers and Lechler are two more, but they're both known commodities.

In trenches is really where Patriot League schools are at a disadvantage by not allowing redshirts. I don't think there's a harder learning curve physically then linemen face. That extra year to prepare and develop physically would really help.

No doubt....a lot of freshmen at NDSU arrive at 250lbs....1 redshirt year later they are up in the 300 range thanks to S&C Kramer. Like I said earlier, a lot of these ND kids come in and discover weights (or st least, a proper program). Not ND, but look at a guy like Haeg for NDSU...he was more of a TE when he showed up.

I learned tonight that Frank Winters played for WIU. If someone like him in that pic WIU is doing pretty good...

Yup, Frankie "Bag o' Donuts" was a Leatherneck. He's actually gotten quite a bit more involved with the team in the last few years (after quite a few years of people in charge essentially alienating some of the more successful sports alumni), showing up at some games, talking to the team before our game at Wisconsin a couple years back, etc.

Also, Rich Seubert, who was an O-lineman (and occasionally TE) for the Giants through most of the '00s. He blocked for Eli in one of Patriot's-haters favorite games...Super Bowl XLII (which ended the Patriots shot at going entirely undefeated that season).

New O-line guys at Western:

Maxwell Gober, G, 6'4", 297, Madison, WI (Madison West HS)
Kyle Sanft, G, 6'3", 280, Bartlett, IL (Bartlett HS)
Derek Gibson, G, 6'4", 310, Highland, KS (Highland CC, JUCO transfer)
Chris Age, TE, 6'4", 225, Newnan, GA (Northgate HS)
Myron Cunningham, 6'5", 280, Warren, OH (Warren G. Harding HS...right in Youngstown State's backyard)

Not a ton of guys on O-line this signing period, didn't loose much on offense to graduation. Needed to fill up the defense a lot more, lost most of the D-line from last year, and quite a few DB backups.

That Myron Cunningham guy could be huge though...Coach Fisher was saying he thinks he could get up to ~315-320 in the weight room, and if you look at photos of him from HS, he's not a fat dude.

Hey Bear Man, guess you have us beat as we will only have 4 that are 6-6/over, but one is 6-9. Better get some FAST players to go along with those BIG slowies - I mean uglies. Samford speed this year can KILL. Also we have just signed an insanely good(near top) recruiting class. Can't wait to get out there and get that good early OOC WIN.
I think you fired the first shot last year. LOL
