Long time UNH Coach Bill Bowes is in the latest class just announced today. I haven't looked at the entire class to see if any other FCS players or coaches are included.

Pretty amazing that UNH has only had two head coaches from 1972 to today!

That is REALLY amazing. I know there are a few other schools where coaches are near permanent fixtures yet that is unfamiliar territory for most of us.

As an example, Montana has had seven coaches since 1995, and four within the past six seasons. I have no idea how many more you'd have to add to that total if you took it all the way back to 1972. If you have a good one it is great when you can keep them.

Marlin the Magician Briscoe, former UN-Omaha QB named. Unfortunately, the Red Mavericks dropped football when they went D-1.

It is unfortunate that the changes that have been made in the past couple of years to voting (I have been a voter in the College Football Hall of Fame elections for a number of years) have made it extremely difficult for those who come from the FCS, D-II, D-III and NAIA to get elected. You used to be able to vote for two players from each category and two coaches from all of those categories. Now everything is lumped together. There are a lot of deserving players from those levels that will be waiting for years (one Elon player I had voted for over the years actually died last year before getting selected) to get elected.

I had voted for Bill Bowes for a number of years and it is once to see him finally get in. Waiting in the wings are coaches Rudy Hubbard from Florida A&M (he won the first I-AA title with the Rattlers) and John Whitehead of Lehigh. Unfortunately, Whitehead died in 2002. And then there is the case of Georgia Southern's Erk Russell, who has never appeared on the ballot because he didn't serve as a head coach for 10 years.

I have argued for years that it is ridiculous that the FCS ranks don't get at least one, or two players selected every year. Still fighting that war and the Erk Russell battle with the powers that be.

Where is Dave Dickenson in this vote? Should be in. Period.
