This was a great game and a great end to a great season that we had. But as I mentioned to several PSU fans, this showed the difference between playing football in the regular season and playing football in the playoffs. All the pregame talk about how will UNI do this, how will they combat that, how will they play outside, its all a smokescreen. They have a long standing in the playoffs with a long-time coach and they know how to play playoff football. We thought it was just another game, but it isn't. Every mistake is magnified because it could knock you out of the game. UNI, NDSU, Sam Houston, they know how to play playoff football, we do not. That comes from experience, an area we were sorely lacking and it showed from the start. Hats off to UNI, they played a helluva game. But we will use this as a learning experience taught to us by one of the finer FCS playoff teams out there and we will be back.

Um. UNI has a great team this year, but they are not a perennial playoff juggernaut. They have 4 post season victories since the beginning of 2009, two of them this year.

Hopefully their season ends in Fargo next weekend, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Nice season for you guys. PSU has taken a step in the right direction and if your HC shares some of the same thoughts as you posted you guys may make the leap into a national finalist.

Portland State and Montana look to be future leaders in the Big Sky. I'd expect BB will figure things out at EWU, and UND may be on the cuffs of the top of the conference as well, plus they're really mad and stuff.
