Does anyone know of other good FCS playoff prediction sites? I know of some that I'll list below. If you know of more, please respond with them. It would be nice to compile a list.

Montana had to hold on to beat South Dakota State in the first round of the playoffs. After getting off to a 24-0 lead, the Grizzlies allowed SDSU to make a second half comeback to make things interesting. However, Montana was able to control the clock at the end of the game, in large part thanks to diminutive back John Nguyen, and win 24-17. Brady Gustafson threw for 295 yards and receiver Ben Romain Roberts had a big game too. The defense kept the Jackrabbits off-balance and forced them to look to the air, where there was not much success.North Dakota State’s quest for a fifth straight FCS title begins here. The Bison did not appear as dominate this year as they have in the past, but they still finished 9-2 and 7-1 in conference play. That is still pretty good and no team in the country can control the clock as effectively as North Dakota State. King Frazier has done an admirable job at running back and Carson Wentz is a smart, efficient quarterback. The Bison defense ranks second or third in the MVFC in rush defense, pass defense, total defense and scoring defense.

But what can worry this North Dakota State team is the fact that way back on August 29th, they lost to Montana. The Grizzlies were able to throw all over the NDSU defense. Gustafson threw for 434 yards and three touchdowns and Nguyen did enough on the ground to keep the Bison honest. However, that game was in Missoula. Going to Fargo in a playoff setting is a lot different than playing at home in August. At least Montana will head into this contest with the confidence that they can end North Dakota State’s dynasty. It may not be as thrilling as the August matchup and that will be a good thing for the Bison.

Projected Score: North Dakota State 28, Montana 24

Do they realize that Carson Wentz is still out with his injury?

Funny when you realize NDSU lost 2 games with Wentz as starter this year. They have lost 0 games with Stick as starter this year...

Stick actually has a higher passer efficiency rating this year than Wentz does. Although the Bison collectively played a lot tougher defenses with Wentz under center than they did with Stick IMO.

Has Stick started against any teams that really posed any kind of threat? With ISU, SIU and YSU, were those games that were expected to be close or should they have been larger victories?

Kinda a similar situation as with Western (and no, I'm not claiming Norvell is as good as Wentz or McGuire is as good as Stick).
With Norvell as QB - 4-5 overall (2-3 vs playoff teams), 55.3% completion rate
With McGuire as QB - 3-0 overall (2-0 vs playoff teams), 54.8% completion rate

McGuire has a slightly lower efficiency rating (117 vs 122) but he's a freshman...he occasionally makes freshman mistakes. He also has rushed for 91 yards and 2 tds in 3 games vs Norvell rushing for -29 yards and 1 TD in 9 games. Although the average "difficulty level" of the teams that Norvell played against is higher than the teams McGuire played against.

If Norvell is healthy, stats-wise it's a toss-up, although Norvell has more experience. Could see either (or both) in the ISU game.

I believe the Bison beat the spread (according to 5dimes) against ISUb and SIU but not against YSU. It's kind of ironic how the starting QBs getting hurt caused the same philosophical change in the offenses but had the opposite effect for Montana and NDSU. After Wentz got hurt NDSU went to a much more run heavy offense, similar to what Montana did when Gustafson got hurt, but it lit a fire it seemed in the Bison run game. I think Wentz is a much better QB than Stick but in a weird way Wentz's injury has been a blessing in disguise for the growth of the rest of the offense.

Ha, as always, take some of these with a grain of salt.

IMO it had way more to do with the USD debacle then the QB change.

Is this a joke? Southern Illinois, Indiana State, and Youngstown State were all very solid teams. Stick can run, much better than Wentz, and has proven to be a QB capable of starting at a lot of top tier schools in the FCS that would fit a dual threat QB system.

I like how Dom & Jeff phrased it in the blog (and I'm paraphrasing):

It seemed like the rest of the team stepped up because until the wrist injury, it was all about Carson. The rest of the team realized it needs to contribute more.
