A 9-3 record before getting blown out AGAIN by the Pokes is something KCK can brag to his transfer recruits about.

Kats will return 8/11 on defense & 7/11 on offense including Off POY, 1st team RB & last year's Fresh of the Year. 2016 will be an exciting year for rebuilding Sam Houston.

I would be shocked if you hold us under 21.

The ineptitude of our offensive coordinator though does make it a real possibility. Hopefully this time around we won't just run up the gut on 3rd and 1 and fourth and 1 which played a significant role in killing the Kats offensive efforts last time. The cowboy coaches had to be scratching their heads when the Kats kept going to the well and the pokes kept stuffing it.

McNeese defense is good. But as a Kat fan I have to believe we will right the ship as compared to the first meeting.

So you think it is a smart play call to try and run up the middle against one of the best defenses in the country? Not just that, but trying it over and over is kind of ignorant. If we were facing a big sky defense maybe, but against the McNeese defense it was just plain dumb.

Obviously shsu has averaged huge offensive numbers so ragging on the oc might seem strange, but when you watch us play you can't help but scratch your head at times with our play calling. I lost all confidence in Longo last year when we ran for 200+ yards in the first quarter against nwla and we immediately went three series without a running play and the game fell apart.

The larger point I was making is that McNeese is too good to simply roll the ball out and assume you will beat your opponent. We are going to need to actually have a gameplan against the pokes defense.

I'm not talking smack as this is related. That would be foolish. You guys beat us a few weeks ago so for me to dismiss that would be crazy.

As a Bearkat fan and someone who follows them closely and keeps an eye on all of fcs football, I personally believe that if shsu plays to its ability offensively there isn't a defense that is going to flat out stop them and think we can beat anybody in the country.

Defensively we aren't on that level but can play good enough to position the team to win. If the oc gets out of his own way I think the talent level of the shsu offense can win a national championship.

We could just as easily be packing up the equipment on Sunday afternoon though.

Hope Saturday's game is a classic and that whoever wins can represent the slc in Frisco.

Actually I think the D got better after that game. Held Harrington to 70+ yards. His lowest output of the year except for Baylor but he didn't get all the carries that game. The D has had to duplicate their effort for 10 games in a row. Will they melt down in the 11th? We shall see.

The trade off of his production in exchange for the lost production of other players hasn't been such that it's worth it, in my opinion.

But...it was a nice 10 win season....wait till next year.

I think McNeese State has the talent 1-30 or so to compete for a national title. I saw them a few times this year and definitely supported their case for a top seed. Sams just handicaps the offense with his inaccuracy. He's a little like Tebow out there. He has a great deep ball and can run but he can't make progressions or throw into a tight window. Even slants and quick outs he struggles with. He's definitely not a Big 12 caliber QB...
