After watching North Carolina A&T dispatch Bethune-Cookman 24-14, it is on to Elon for my second game of the day.

No surprise that James Madison is putting a whopping on Elon with a 34-0 lead at halfime. The Dukes scored two TDs in the first period and added three more in the second quarter. About the only thing to go wrong was that Elon blocked JMU's first PAT.

Vad Lee was 11-of-14 passing in the first half for 135 yards and one TD. The QB, who was one of Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd this week, rushed four times for 14 more yards. Cardon Johnson has rushed for 149 yards and 2 TDs on 14 carries for JMU.

JMU takes the second-half kickoff and just shreds the Elon defense.

7 plays, 72 yards and 1:56 off the clock before Vad Lee throws his second TD pass of the day. On third and short, he threw for the only time in the drive to make it 41-0. Elon's defense was getting blown off the ball for gaping holes on almost every play.

This is the type of game where it shows just how far Elon has to go to compete in the CAA.

On fourth and 2, Elon is stopped short of a first down and turns the ball bacl over to the Dukes at the 3.

Lee breaks loose for a long run to the Elon 39. Poor tackling angles and too much speed equals a bad result for the defense.

Lee would be my favorite right now to win the Walter Payton Award, with last year's winner John Robertson of Villanova out for the season with a knee injury. Unbelievable physical talent, though Lee is still a work in progress as a passer.

After JMU is forced to punt, the ball is downed at the Elon 7. That's a 90-yard switch in field position.

Elon muffs a fumble after another JMU punt and the Dukes recover at the Elon 16.
