View Full Version : AGS Top 25 - How They Fared Week 6 & Playoff Eliminator

After some thorough discussions with the best and brightest here at AGS, you will notice that there is a major improvement included in this weeks "How They Fared" spreadsheet. I hope this will cement its position as the single most important tool in your poll voting box.

Remember that the Sagarin Rankings are through last weeks games until you see the asterisks removed and that the results hyperlink to recap articles to help give a little more insight than just a box score. Not a Portland State fan, but any time you beat an FBS team so badly they fire the coach before his post-game presser... xbowx xbowx xbowx

If you notice any errors, please let me know so I can get them corrected and thank you all for making "How They Fared" the number 1 tool on AGS for filling out your brackets each week and for your help in keeping it accurate and useful!

Since it hasn't been an issue until this week, remember...
Green = 7 D1 wins
Yellow = Must win out for 7 D1 wins
Red = Can't reach 7 D1 wins

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13OJlYhinsS6TjdxW999DdhdbfCQXGn3EyffXCGZ5XDY/edit?usp=sharing

But that's not all!!! We have a few more teams that can no longer make it to seven D1 wins, so unless you make a big run for the conference title... Turn off the lights, the show is over!

So Supe, riddle me this. xeyebrowx The #17 team beats the #14 team and still do not have a win against an AGS top 25 team???? :D

I know it makes no difference in the big scheme of things but I had to jack with ya. You are doing a great job with this xthumbsupx

Well, if you listen to the SLU fans on their messageboard after this game, we still haven't beat a good team. ;)

Thanks for adding the year the school was established. This has greatly improved my ability to pick the better teams.

Haha, yes, I was dying at this as well! Softens the blow of losing to an historic institution that may as well challenge Harvard and Dartmouth for the top spot in my poll.

Hi Supe,

I think Wofford is 3-2 rather than 4-2.

You could have us as established as either 1954 or 1993 the year we went independent from USC-Columbia

Tealblood
October 11th, 2015, 09:15 AM
And we clearly don't belong in this poll as we are one of the few in the top 20 under 100 years old

I didn't think that mattered as much in the Age of Enlightenment where the age of institions is what really counts

It plays into it. Also if there is good pizza near campus.

This is so subjective... whose pizza metric are we using?

Got to use Casey's breakfast pizza with "light" bacon. Got to keep Clenz happy.

That's why we have a poll. If our votes were just based on when the school was established everyone's vote would be the same. The pizza metric leads to some pretty lively debate.

1. Casey's Breakfast pizza
2. Imo's

So far I have:

1. Tie between: Dayton, Dartmouth, Harvard
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
125. UNI

But I am having trouble placing the rest? Besides age of school, what else are we using to determine?

So do bonus points go to all the New York FCS school for New York style thin-crust wide-slice? Just to Fordham and Columbia because they are the only ones in the city proper? Is it by mileage allowing Stony Brook a higher ranking for proximity? Does that mileage allow for crossing of state lines, helping Wagner, Monmouth, and Sacred Heart? Whew! Ranking this week is going to be tough.

New York Style is negative points, it is by mileage and does cross state lines.

PantherRob82 has been killing it in my book recently, until he wrote that Little Caesars is good pizza - I just cannot let that stand!

Yale is #1 for Pepe's, Sally's, Modern, etc. It's called Apizza!

Personally, the famous and unique thin-pie Colony Grill in Stamford is my personal favorite, so that would make Sacred Heart #2 in my book.

People say that the sauce burns when it gets in your eye, so hopefully they watch out for that.
