Choose your favorite unique mascot. The top 2 will go on to the semifinal round.

Honor System Request - please do not vote for your team!

Method of mascots chosen:
Started with a list of all Division 1 mascots. Removed duplicate mascots, including spelling variations (sorry Bearkats!). Then removed all non-FCS schools. I may have screwed up when selecting mascots, if so I apologize and it wasn't intentional. If your unique mascot isn't on here, see if there is another D-1 team (possibly a non-football school) with the same mascot.

I have to say that is one of the more stranger Mascots. A tree? Really? I suppose it does not have a very lively sideline presence. Just kind of stands there. But presents a strong firm presence no doubt. I actually do like it, so Sycamores please do not be offended.xthumbsupx

The Mocs chopped down a Sycamore in the playoffs last year at Finley. The freshly cut tree had a pleasant aroma...somewhat similar to cedar, with notes of pine. ;)

Went with Indiana State a mascot that's a tree. Pretty unique and different

There is only one other team in all college athletics with the moniker "Leopards." We were the first though.

Mountain Hawk? Unique? GTFO... How many teams in America are the "Hawks"? There is not such thing as a mountain hawk... it's just a hawk that lives on a mountain.

Wait....so "Hoya" is literally an adjusted translation of the word "what"?

Red-tailed hawks (which not coincidentally are brown and white) are indigenous to the Lehigh Valley and there is a hawk sanctuary not all that far from South Mountain.

"Hoya Saxa" = "What Rocks."

(Yes, that's unique.)

Not sure, but I think it relates to a latin saying, "Hoya Saxa" that G'town uses that roughly translates: "What Rocks!" G'town's campus has a large rock wall facing the Potomac River.
