I don't know if I would call that a "career" in the NFL.

Compare or contrast?

what are your thoughts?

They are different players. I see Vad as a more powerful runner, but maybe a step slower. Vad is an average passer, good arm strength, but "meh" on reading defenses and making the right decisions. Rodney Landers by contrast from JMU in 2008 was an even stronger runner but even more mediocre in the passing game.

AE was complete - runner and passer. Vad is too, but he is now a senior, a transfer from GT after his sophomore season, and it took him a half of a season last year to get into his groove at JMU in a different system. There's just not enough there to fairly compare.

Bottom line, AE won three NCs. The debate pretty much ends there in terms of accomplishments. However, Vad may get a closer look by NFL teams than AE did due to being a bit bigger in size. I could see him as a cheap third string QB for the Vikings behind Teddy Bridgewater (Shaun Hill [UMD] and Taylor Heinicke [ODU] are current backups).

Edwards....back to back NCs. Still remember the 2006 game at App when he came in to the game. Our players said he was way better than the QB App started.

My vote is for Armondo Edwardson. His game against Minnesota Maize and blue is the all time upset in college football. That or he just didn't participate in that "hot, hot, hot" video. xthumbsupx

I just know that they BOTH have completely worn us out when they played us. It was a shame the Panthers
drafted up to get him and then did nothing with him.

He might have had a shot at PR and WR if not for Elon going after his knees with the coaches blessing every year.

There have only been 3 true freshman QB's to win a national championship in college football at the division 1 level (not sure about D2 and D3) and Armanti Edwards was one of them. Anyone care to guess the other two?

Edwards came to Missoula and damn near beat a Griz team that went 14-1. And the national titles.

Based on resume, this isn't close because Edwards had the most impressive resume in FCS history.

That said, if we're talking about the highest level that an FCS player has played, Lee may make a compelling case by the time this season is over. He has less talent around him that AE did. He's also a better passer.

If a career in the NFL is the metric then Andre Roberts is better than both of them.

Steve McNair was better than them all and it's not even close...
