I'm guessing that this wasn't the only long-term series offer that Georgetown received from an Ivy team.

Any particular reason why they accepted a series with Columbia (other than perhaps perceived easy wins)?

That is great news. I am betting there is at least one other Ivy that will lock up a Gtown series of a similar length. Establishing a DC rivalry can resonate with the large alum base in the region for Ivy schools. It might even spur the Hoya admin to build a respectable facility. Patriot League membership has not helped.
