Below are how the players on my 20 man watch lists looked as of yesterday.

I bolded those who have had slow starts.

I'm not making any changes to my lists yet but early on it is looking really good for Hodge, DeLuca, Hough, and Spence for defense while Eubank, Pope, and Mixon have shown out the most to me early on.

I named just a few guys on the freshman list but will really have a solid list of 15 names in two more weeks after a few more freshman get their feet wet and are starting to play at a high level.

Who is missing that should at least be listed as a potential add?

I almost did. He needs more INTs and PBUs. I was going to add him to the potential add list with a good game this week.

I watched one of your games today and am going to add him to a list of potential adds to my top 20. I have also added Southern RS/WR Willie Quinn. He is so tiny but dynamic to watch in the return game. Albeit he did most of his damage against MVSU but he is doing what he should do against teams like that to be worthy of mention so I put him in as well.

It is hard for a WR to win the OFF POY and right now if any will do it the guy is Kupp. He is the top guy in the country but I think Weineke, Devalve, Mixon, and Peterson are all up there.

Chris King is not lighting it up like he did last year. He looked like a mid-late round pick during his junior year but is going to have to pick it up or he will find himself out of the draft board and off this type list.

I like to give 4 regular season weeks before I take off anyone for sure because just two weeks is such a small sample.

I think some of these defensive players numbers being down might have to do with what schemes their coaches have had to implement because of the offenses they were facing. For example, a d-linemen facing 6'5" 320lb offensive linemen that play in a pass happy quick throw 80+ play offense won't have very many tackles. But keep in mind those type of O-Lines and schemes won't be there all year. It's just too early to say one is better than the other when one faces a massive o-line like Oklahoma State while another faces a D2 line.

UCA's LB's are kicking butt this year with double digit tackles and multiple tackles for loss. That means the ball is getting out quick to the second line of defense. Proof is teams have thrown over 1000 yards on the Bears in 2 games.

I am not sure who is eligible for the list and to be honest I don't watch enough "other" games to know the resume of these players on the list but McNeese has a DT Isaiah Golden who by the end of the season should be on this list.

I almost did. He needs more INTs and PBUs. I was going to add him to the potential add list with a good game this week.
Teams don't throw at him anymore. Pretty tough to rack up picks and PBU's when you aren't thrown at.

Playing Cal Poly this week means he for sure isn't going to make your list. They throw the ball 10 times per game, on the high side.

You know I typically back you when it comes to fans over reacting to their player not being on one of your lists, but Hall I'm going to challenge on.

Trumaine Johnson for the Griz was similar, in that teams rarely threw to his side of the field. His interceptions went down, but his affect on games increased.

How about Brady Gustafson, QB from the Griz? Nearly 800 yards, and 5 total tds through two games.

Ironically enough, I think the system he plays in might actually hurt his chances. And he'll definitely have to clean up the mistakes from last week in order to have a shot.

I have the same concerns,GATW. Was curious what other people, including the original poster, thought of his chances.

Willie Quinn had a 100 plus yard kickoff return vs Louisiana Tech also.

He is electric!

I can't believe Mitchell Jeter isn't on the defense list.

I almost put him. He is playing really good. If you guys win the next two weeks and he puts up a few TFLs and sacks I'll put him instead of Delaney. Delaney is a really talented corner who can create turnovers.

I won't make an official change to my lists for two more weeks. I just put this together for fun to give us some discussion on players.

You just said yourself why Hall will likely never get on this list. People aren't throwing to him. However, knowing this if he has just 4 or 5 picks then I could see him getting on because he will be picking off just about every pass thrown to him. Voters don't vote for DBs who don't have INTs and PBUs and so Hall is going to need several of them.

I'm not saying Hall does not deserve to be on here talent wise but that he will need more tackles. A safety can get by with few passes defended if they have a bunch of tackles but a corner better have the passes defended.

With this said, I think his NFL stock is higher than his media stock will be. If Hall keeps it up he is definitely an All-American candidate. If he only has 2-3 picks I could see him being left off the DEF POY list but making 2nd or 3rd team All-America and getting NFL attention.

Eli Jenkins may play his way into contention.

I don't know if STATS will put two from JSU but the decision could be tough if Jenkins has a couple of big games. He and Pope both are worthy of mention. I'm leaning Pope right now but that could change when I make an official change projection in two weeks.

Just because I said a player needs to get faster from his freshman year does not mean I always think that. Players improve. I watched half of one of your games and he does look a little faster. He is fast enough for his size now. He looks like he improved a good half step. This is a very loaded WR class and he is clearly going to be near the top of it.

I was not doing my projected changes but simply showing how the guys I had on my preseason list are doing and some names to consider. He is going to be a player to consider for sure. Very impressive in the NDSU game.

Don't believe we have anyone who will win any national award. JSU has some good players but sure we have any at the top of their position.

Might want to consider putting Jordan West on the list. He goes 21-24 for 410 and 6 touchdowns yesterday. He's been very good against solid competition and keep in mind he's sat out almost 3 quarters with cramping issues at Oregon and splltting pt with Hennessey at UNI.

I was/am very impressed with West.

He's not a big guy, but is extremely accurate and has great timing in that offense. He's also shifty enough to cause line backers and corners in coverage a ton of issues if he breaks the pocket. He is able to pick yards up on the ground so they need to decide so I leave my guy and stop him or allow him to pick up 10 yards on the ground.
