This is a big game for both programs imo. Lehigh is coming off their worst season in over 20 years after a great 4 year run while CCSU has struggled the last few years. Ultimately, the Devils problems resulted in a coaching change two seasons ago iirc.

TP and Quan ,high price for W. Ugly W but team showed flashes on OD was vastly better than last year and better than I thought they would be tonite. The Bs started slow but both are very good. Better OL push they would have had very big nights.

Traveled up. 4.5 hours, I-84 a parking lot! Couple thoughts:

1. Getting a ticket took almost as long as getting there. Missed half of first Qtr.
2. Maybe just my old eyes, but lighting seemed poor?? Otherwise, nice place.

As for the game, Shaf is who he is. Does not see field well. As mentioned earlier, O-line got pushed around. Bragalone was very good. Brisker will be also. But, just don't like the whole O scheme. Too much running side to side/delays. Whatever happened to the I formation, especially in short yardage situations? Like last year, we call a TO on 4th and short, then Shaf runs into the middle of the line for zippo. Folmar does not impress me. D looked good at times, still lots of work to do. I like the new kicker. You can hear the thud when he puts his foot on the ball! Off to JMU.

We try and schedule teams we can beat the first week. You know like Davidson, le high etc etc

I made the the same 3 hour trip in 5 hours. Terrible holiday weekend traffic. Nice stadium, but I agree the lighting needs to be improved, especially along the sides of the field--"shadowy".

As for the game, typical opening game with a lot of inexperience mistakes and opening night jitters. Some things will sort out. Score much closer than the game. Defense much improved. Much more aggressive calls and decent pressure on QB. Pelletier did not play second half as precaution. Looked like a charley horse to me on the helmet to leg hit. Lambert took a shot on the knee but was walking ok afterward. Duffy in an ankle boot second half as well. I too get perplexed on some of the calls by Folmar. Too reliant on Shaf running, I knew what was coming on that 4th and one we did not make. The fumble into the endzone was questionable. Those at the goal line said he had already broken the plane. The WR corps looks very solid and deep. Casey, Knott and Socarras really made a nice opening game statement that teams cannot double Pelletier and not get burned. Frosh RBs did a nice job. OL could have given them some better openings. To me, that was the most concerning. Frosh kicker put on nice show. Very crisp and accurate leg, though not a long distance cannon. CCSU has some good athletes (QB and some receivers) and overall their tackling was very good, but we had a better overall collection of talent. It was a good win for an opener and leaves plenty for the coaches to harp upon. Definitely need to step it up next week at JMU.

What's up with Tenant? Duffy ankle came late in first half. Even up to then I thought OL was struggling. Agreed, OL did better in the fourth and especially when needed on game nailing drive. Too many points left on the field that will kill us if not cleaned up. Need to develop the 'killer instinct' when you start trampling someone. We let them hang around to make things more tense than they should have in the fourth. But it was a win. I give it a C+
