Lots of penalties though...a few that I think we got lucky on...unsportsman-like conduct that could have gone either way...a roughing the kicker that they could have called but didn't.

Eastern seems like they've had more problems with the heat though...cramping up and stuff. It was 90 at kickoff.

That Western vs Eastern score is a final now...33-5. Lots of running and putting in freshmen in the last half of the 4th quarter. Very pleasantly surprised by our defense, running game was decent, punting and kickoffs were really good as were kick returns mostly...disappointed in the passing offense (what I thought would be our strength...maybe just opening game jitters) and our FGs were iffy (hit a couple under 30 yards, missed a 41-yarder, had a blocked XP).

Pretty sloppy on both sides of the ball, lots of penalties on both sides, could have been more if the refs had been feeling antsy tonight.

Lots to work on, but a win is a win. I'll take it.

I finally got ESPN3 to pull up around 11 last night and they were showing the door to what looked like SB's locker room or hallway to the locker room and they were just standing there and I was trying to figure out why they hadn't just given up on the game yet. Going into 4 hours after kickoff, in a game that didn't matter. Nothing on ESPN or twitter about it being cancelled so I check the score this morning and see that they finally gave up I wasn't supprised. Imagine being someone who had driven from any distance to support your team and have that happen.

What's crazy is there are people who won't vote NDSU in their top 25 at all because they are under .500 and it will be accepted because they reasoning of "they lost to Montana" is good enough. Same with Illinois State, SHSU, the loster of Chatty/Jax, etc...

It's completely asinine (and I've shared this thought many times) that NDSU being left off a poll at this point is acceptable because they lost to Montana - who could be 2-0 and very likely top 5, if not #1.

Amazingly short sided and lazy by those voters. "They lost, so they can't be ranked.....but St Francis ****ing CRUSHED Georgetown so I should vote for them instead."
