Congratulations to the Mercer players selected and all of the other SOCON players selected. Phil should send the SOCON a bill for cleaning up their mess on the pre-season OL selections? I hope Mercer finishes one game behind Furman and that Mercer's only loss is to Furman!

JT Palmer, a would-be 5th year Sr for Mercer (transferred from Presbyterian and was a "Day 1" Bear, joined them in 2012). He's not returning as he has enrolled in Mercer's Law School. I didn't want to 'announce' it until Mercer did (which they did today) and I didn't want to post what I knew to be an inaccurate listing of a Mercer Player. I'm kinda funny like that...all ethical and such. The Bears will greatly miss JT. He was an excellent WR, a fantastic, enthusiatic blocker, and an even better Leader and young man. I believe they have several WR's that are capable of stepping up, but he is a big loss. I suspect (a) certain WCU's fan(s) will now project APSU as a 3 TD favorite over the Bears upon hearing this news.

That's a tough one for the Bears. Palmer was, in my opinion, one of the best skill position players they had. Really a guy that gave them some size on the outside.

Every team loses good ones to graduation, though.
