None. At least, none in the sense of no sitting FCS ADs applied, no FCS senior administrators applied. A former FCS AD applied (Rick Hartzell).

(http://collegead.com/applicants-for-akron-university-athletic-director/)Does this say anything about perception of G5-FCS? Does it say something more specifically about Akron? Is there no conclusion to
draw, just the specifics of the timing of the opening and where people are in their careers depressed the candidate pool?

The Akron president could have a reputation... Just a guess. I have no knowledge.

Akron is a middling basketball school at best, a dumpster fire of a football school and stuck in the MAC, which is only good because it's a better Mountain West.

Right, but it always has been, the difference is in the past FCS high administrators would have seen it as (1) a pay raise and (2) a step closer to the real power schools. Is that not the case anymore?

I think I'm more surprised that no FCS associate AD types applied than no FCS ADs

You think they have money issues now....

Wait until Hartzell gets done with them...

He's 95% of the reason UNI faced the issues it did a couple years ago
