Matt Williamson is in his second season as the Lumberjacks' defensive coordinator, working primarily with SFA's linebacking corps.

Williamson has worked side-by-side with coach Conque for the past eight years, serving as Central Arkansas' defensive coordinator and linebackers coach since the 2007 season. Under Williamson, UCA led the Southland in scoring defense three-straight seasons, leading the league in total defense in 2009.

Prior to his time in Conway, Williamson spent seven seasons on the staff at Missouri Western State, serving as the Griffons' defensive line coach during that span as well as taking on the role of defensive coordinator in 2005. Williamson spent two seasons at Arkansas-Monticello (1999-2000) as a defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator after spending three seasons at Missouri Western as a graduate assistant from 1997-99.

A three-time All-MIAA selection at noseguard at Missouri Western, Williamson was a second team All-American in 1996, leading the Griffons with 82 tackles before earning his degree in 1997. He and his wife, Andrea, have two sons: Zach and Brock.

Keegan Sheedy has officially signed his National Letter of Intent with Villanova, the school announced this morning. The 6'5" 270 lb. Lancaster Catholic (PA) offensive lineman originally committed to Villanova late June (http://www.vuhoops.com/2014/6/23/5834074/villanova-football-recruiting-2015-lancaster-catholics-keegan-sheedy), at the time becoming the third verbal in Villanova's 2015 class.
Sheedy chose Villanova over offers from Lafayette and Holy Cross, citing the coaching staff and Villanova's success in the FCS as the main reasons for his commitment. Sheedy has a great frame and should project at one of the tackle spots, but it may be a year or two before he's put on the strength to compete in the CAA.

Villanova has an immediate need at right tackle (where Sheedy played in high school) with the graduation of 4-year starter Vince Kowalski, but the staff has done a good job keeping the depth chart full and Sheedy shouldn't be pressed in to action too soon. More likely, he'll make his first push for consistent playing time in 2016 or 2017.
