89. That's the jersey number of redshirt freshman wide receiver Khayvonn Hawkins. Hawkins hails from Robbinsdale Cooper High School in the Twin Cities, he had a impressive high school career and in the brief time that he's been in Fargo you can see why he was highly valued. Hawkins has good size and speed (6'0, 202 pounds) and has shone the ability to make some acrobatic catches, both along the sidelines and over the middle (remember the spring game and his touchdown catch). Hawkins will be counted on this fall, with the departure of three wide receivers this offseason to come and contribute right away. His early tape says that will happen.
