We have one of the most prolific offensive systems in the nation and have been a top five team four out of the last five seasons. Arguably, behind NDSU, we are the runnern up for the most successful team since 2010. People keep forgetting that we have reloaded every year through many offensive star changes. Basically, we are a good team until proven otherwise.

Beat Oregon. Silence the critics.

EWU is not beating Oregon. If they do beat them they should be #1 FCS team and should be a top 10 FBS team.

EWU has certainly built up a lot of equity, and deservedly so.

As prolific as the Eagle offense is the defense has become equally horrific. EWU gave up 50+ points in two of their wins last year. The loss of Vernon Adams is going to hurt. Especially with @ Oregon, @ UNI and Montana State to start the year. The Eagles will be in the playoffs more than likely. I just don't see them as title contenders as a Top 5 ranking would suggest.

Wait. Are you saying on "Any Given Saturday" is a cruel lie?

The world is a cruel cruel place. Upsets happen but you aren't going to beat a top 5 FBS without your starting maybe NFL bound QB.

Um I think SHSU would hold that title. xsmiley_wix

I would argue that since they hold no championships and we hold one, then we get that title.

EWU: 1 national championship, 2 semifinal appearances, one quarterfinal appearance. No appearance in 2011.
SHSU: 2 runner-ups, 1 semifinal appearance. No appearance in 2010 and 2013

You said since 2010.

We won the championship in 2010. Hence, since 2010.

I took since to mean 2011 on but even so you haven't been back and have lossed how many to SHSU in the playoffs?

We've lost one to SHSU in the playoffs. Your point?

EWU = 1 title game appearance and 3 out of 5 semi's since 2010.

SHSU = 2 title game appearances and 3 out of 5 semi's since 2010.

Flip a coin to see who's second best I guess. :D

Tie breaker:

SHSU misses 2010 and 2013
EWU misses 2011.

Um, SHSU has been in the playoffs the last 4 years...

2011.. NC Runner Up
2012.. NC Runner Up
2013.. Second Round
2014.. Semifinals

Are we really debating on who the SECOND best team was in the country over the past 5 years?

Well, there's not much debate on #1...so....

Even if there was debate on #1 it would get shut down pretty quick by the ultra defensive NDSU side of it.

If we're going for second best, I'd like to throw NDSU's name into the ring. :D

Because, those scrubs couldn't even reach the semifinals in 2010.

My mistake, I thought SHSU missed 2013. I forgot they got bumped out by SELA.

Im not debating who is second best. I was just correcting RJones 61 that SHSU wasnt in playoffs in 2013 when in fact they were.

Don't be jealous that your team is not in the running :D
