WOW! Furman drew a tough locale in the first round. But how great would it be to see Furman in Boone again on December 2nd. No offense to Montana State and Coastal Carolina fans.

GO CATAMOUNTS!!! (good luck to all teams)

just so everyone knows. MSU's QB Rolovich had a possible kidney bruise against the griz yesterday or it also could be a torn oblique muscle. so thats some news for the game. he took himself out yesterday.

I agree, having to play at ASU in the first round is a fate only slightly better than not being in the playoffs at all.

AndrewFU21

Apparently, head-to-head is important this year, which wasn't last year, as MSU gets in over PSU.

still surprised that Hampton gets a home bid over JMU. i can't imagine they bid more than the Dukes....

so does the AQ really not mean anything? or did Hampton get a home bid because they were the MEAC AQ?

For those that want to show us all how smart they are - here is a place to put in your predictions:

There's no cost to play, and no prizes either - except the ability to brag that you are smarter than the rest of us...

It doesn't matter if JMU bid higher than Hampton, they set the bracket before they look at the bids.

I thought that was one of the worst calls of the committee.

UNH @ Hampton and JMU @ YSU...so much for geography! Seems to me like a JMU/Hampton matchup, no matter which house, would see higher attendence. What the hell were they thinking?

They did it in 2004. They sent #5 to #4 GSU. It makes no sense. Just seed all the teams.

i agree. i think that at least the top 8 teams should be seeded.

It appears Umass got the easiest first round draw. That said, if UNH gets by Hampton, I have to imagine the committee is eagerly anticipating a UNH/UMass rematch. Goodness I can't stand Brandon London.

It's JMU's bad luck. YSU-JMU was the "made for TV" game for the 1st Round of the playoffs. The Committee does this every year. Last year it was GSU at Texas State while the UNH at GSU game was the TV game in 2004.

Its set up where UNH could if things go well could avenge both there big losses at home this year in the playoffs. first at Mass then in the finals vs JMU im hoping for that scenrio

if head-to-head was important then UNH would be going to YSU and JMU would host Hampton. JMU beat UNH convincingly and still drew the #4 team. yikes.

Like I said a few weeks ago, I thought they would place UNH in the best position where the NCAA could showcase Santos and Ball as much as they can and what better way then UNH @ UMass in the 2nd round on national TV (assuming Mass and UNH get through their 1st round games.)

chiapet9
November 19th, 2006, 01:23 PM
that makes sense. its all about TV and money.

why don't they just start getting sponsorships for these games and give them "bowl" names. ugh.

HE GOT OWNED!!!!! It will probably really hurt our chances in this one if he remains out. If Carpenter is in we wont have much of a chance.

I beg to differ. The reason Rolo took that one hard hit was because he had he eyes fixed on one receiver, and didn't even look over to his right to see Utterback coming at him full tilt!! He isn't the smartest QB, and I think Carpenter is better in that department. Give me Carpenter vs. Furman. Rolo hasn't been cutting it lately (with the accpetion of ONE nice pass at UM).

Wrong. It is kind of scary to be in the last bracket announced. It turned out well though with a winnable home game against UT-Martin. Bring on the Skyhawks!
