Marshaun Coprich makes 1st team, but only one of his lineman can even sniff 3rd team. WTF?

Only one made the All-MVFC 1st team. I think you could argue Ammons for maybe a 4th team but I don't think that's a big snub. You would have thought he would have more than 2 OL make MVFC 1st or 2nd team but he only had 2 with 1 on the HM list.

Good to see Harvard's Hodges and Easton on second team.

I think you can argue that Hodges should be lower and Easton should be first team.

I may sound crazy right now but Easton is going to have the better NFL career than Hodges. Hodges will go to the combine and play in the Senior Bowl but I firmly believe Easton will outlast him in the NFL by a few years.

HOMER ALERT!!!!!

Jake Wieneke should be higher than 3rd team. More yards and more TDs than every single WR on the second team.

Yeah, that's a bit low for him. It has to be he's getting bumped down because he's a freshman. Everyone knows these things are based primarily on numbers and his are better than any of the 2nd teamers outside of Drake (since he played two less games):

Jake Wieneke (SDSU): 72 receptions for 1404 yards and 16 TDs in 14 games

Adam Drake (EIU): 93 receptions for 1321 yards and 12 TDs in 12 games
Darrin Peterson (Liberty): 85 receptions for 1379 yards and 12 TDs in 14 games
Brian Wetzel (Fordham): 89 receptions for 1247 yards and 11 TDs in 14 games

Can't go strictly by the stats. I am probably going to put Wieneke on my 2nd team but as my last guy on it. I have Kenny Cook of Gardner-Webb higher than most. He missed time due to injury and had an awful OL so his QB could not get him the ball.

I try to rank based on how good you are and not the stats. If you haven't seen everyone play you can only go on stats so you have to see the games and know the situations.

I know Wieneke didn't have the best QB situation either and he had a great RB so he wasn't leaned on as much but I think in his case he did benefit a little bit from the focus on his All-America RB early on.

Congratulations to Alec May, which marks the third consecutive All-America team with a Georgetown entrant. The last time that happened was 1940-41-42.

Imagine how strong the Hoyas could be if it had an offense that matched its defense. Or scholarships...

Good points but I doubt most of the voters here see much of anyone outside of their team's conference. Wieneke put his numbers up against MVFC competition as well in an offense that doesn't throw it 50 times a game. Put him on Fordham or EIU playing the teams they play and I bet he blows his current numbers away.

I will see your HOMER ALERT and raise you a relative bias that is partially subdued by an anti-team bias.

Adam Drake averaged more yards per game and played THIS whole season with a running QB in a run-first offense. Yes I know how that compares to SDSU qb/Zenner/MVC situation.

EDIT: saw both play in person once and watched both on tv 2 times each

And...

Even if Drake is second team, there are two spots still open where Wieneke stats exceed both of players in those spots.

I think you can make a pretty good case for selecting UNH's Brad Prasky at punter. His average punts were not quite as long as the top three, but his percentage of punts inside the 20 was better than any of them. If you have any doubt about his talent, just ask our friends at Chattanooga how he can affect a game.

I wont argue that since I didn't see the other two. Id say being a freshman probably hurts him. Id assume he has a real shot to get 2 or 3 first team selections in the future.

Question: how does a DB on a playoff team that had 114 tackles, 4 int with one returned for a TD, 14 PBU, 3 fumble recoveries and 6.5 TFL for -31 yards and one sack get noticed?? Yes there are a couple of good Senior safeties in the MVFC, but (yes a biased opinion) I'll take this production at least to have some sniff at one of the four teams.
