From the SLC, DD Terry has picked up his third SLC player of the week in five weeks! How 'bout that DD? He's a helluva back, especially when he gets in the open...

FRISCO, Texas - After keeping their teams in the hunt for the Southland Conference football championship, McNeese State's Blake Bercegeay and Trey Bennett and Sam Houston State's D.D. Terry have been picked as Aeropostale Football Players of the Week. Following is a look at their performances.

OFFENSE

D. D. TERRY, Sam Houston State, Senior, RB, Willis, Texas -- Terry picks up his third award of the year and third in the last five weeks after rushing 31 times for 278 yards in a 28-23 win at Southeastern Louisiana. He had touchdown runs of 1, 51 and 12 yards to help keep SHSU's title chances alive. Terry's performance ranks as the second best rushing day in Sam Houston history (record is 286 by McNeil Moore in 1951) and the sixth best in Southland history. He now has 1,187 yards rushing this season, a Sam Houston school record.

DEFENSE

TREY BENNETT, McNeese State, Jr., LB, Newton, Texas -- Bennett was credited with a team high 15 tackles and also broke up a pass in McNeese State's 29-26, overtime win at Northwestern State. The win has the Cowboys in the driver's seat for at least a share of the SLC championship and a trip to the NCAA Playoffs.

SPECIAL TEAMS

BLAKE BERCEGEAY, McNeese State, So., PK, Gonzales, La. -- Bercegeay kicked a school, conference and state record tying five field goals in a 29-26, overtime win over Northwestern State. He booted the game winner from 28 yards in overtime and also kicked a 39 yarder with 25 seconds left in regulation to send the contest into overtime. Bercegeay also had field goals of 41, 40 and 46 yards. He was a perfect 5-for-5 and was 2-of-2 on PAT kicks. He also posted a 44.0-yard punting average on three punts. This is the third honor of the season for Bercegeay.
