Don't know what uni will announce but probably about 10 or 11k.

Thanksgiving break. No students to speak of.

Normal student turn out probably gets us to 13 or 14k

SDSU has 10,650 to set the pillow fight world record. That pillow fight in the stands was more fiercely contested than the USD Yotes provided. Jacks should have locked down a play-off spot with that spanking (plus 6 other D-I wins).

18696 fans saw NDSU win a share of their 4th straight MVFC championship and the 20th home win in a row.
A stadium record 26352 saw the Grizzlies whoop the Bobcat in Missoula.

1783 was the official attendance for Indiana State at Western Illinois. (600 less than the LOWEST attended home match for UNI womens volleyball. haha)

10298 was the official attendance for Missouri State at UNI

Is there really that little to do in Cedar Falls? I could buy some decent wrestling crowds but women's volleyball?

A paltry 1500 saw HC lose to Georgetown for the 4th time in 5 years at Multi-Sport Field.

Magic City Classic between Alabama State and Alabama A&M drew 63,000 in 2013. Harvard-Yale at the Yale Bowl usually approaches 60,000. The H-Y record is around 80,000 but long before they dropped to FCS.

It's been a while since Yale/Harvard drew that many at the Yale Bowl

It's been a while since Yale/Harvard drew that many at the Yale BowlBut they've still announced over 50,000 for the last six Y-H games (whether they all entered the Bowl is another question) so that's still more than L-L.

UNI has one of the top volleyball programs in the nation, and current head coach is top 10 all time in winning percentage. Multiple S16s, host the conference tourney frequently, hosted NCAA tournament games, etc...

UNI finishes in the top 10 in attendance every year...

13,326 in Durham to watch NCCU wreck A&T's season and grab a share of the MEAC Title. Stadium seats 10,000 so lots of standing room only.

Amazing when you think about it. The home team has an enrollment of 2,400, one of the smallest playing D-1 sports. The visitors' undergrad enrollment is about 4,900. My calculator tells me that the mega universities (Alabama, Ohio State, et al.) would have to put way over a million fannies in the seats for one game to match this. Ohio State, for example, just counting undergrads at the Columbus campus, would have to squeeze 1,156,000 into the horseshoe.

Even though I'm not an alumnus of either Lehigh or Lafayette, as someone originally from the Lehigh Valley hearing that fans of two fairly small schools from my home region are being seen everywhere in NYC prior to today's game makes me proud.

I totally agree carney. That's what makes Saturday's huge ticket demand for L-L 150 even more amazing. A lot of Division I-AA/FCS schools are much larger public schools that have a larger base of alumni and students to draw from than Lehigh or especially Lafayette, even if they play at the lower-profile Division I-AA/FCS level.

I still think the ticket sales should NOT equal attendance. Obviously all of the L-L ticket sales were before the disappointing records came into being so about 65-70% of the seats were filled despite the "announced" attendance of 48000+...

I agree. I think that trend can be traced to MLB and how it changed its game attendance reporting after the 1994 strike/lockout; other leagues in other sports decided to pick up and run with it. It was pretty obvious from where I was sitting on Saturday that a large number of upper deck seats were not filled. On the other hand, one thing I think many fans do at various sports events (which I personally think is crazy) and I saw some do firsthand on Saturday is stand behind the section and watch the game from a better vantage point than where their seat is located. This especially happens in stadiums with open concourses (i.e. stadiums with unobstructed views of the field from the concourse). Yankee Stadium III is like that, and I noticed a lot of people standing behind the top of the bleachers to watch the game. Additionally, from looking at the flags at the top of the stadium, there was a pretty strong wind blowing towards the LF corner of the stadium (Lehigh side in this case), and some people, especially in the upper deck, may have moved to not have the wind blow on them.
