BEST FCS UNIFORMS IN THE NATION?

In a time where everybody is stressing about whether or not their team will make the playoffs, lets discuss the FCS teams that look the best on the field come Saturday.

For the Big South, my mind wants to say Liberty because they have the traditional America Red, White, and Blue and more alternates than the Oregon Ducks. But something about that Navy and Gold from Chuck South takes the cake for me.

The Griz will be wearing all maroon uniforms and helmets. The helmets will have a special logo with the Griz script outlined by the state of Montana. The backs of the helmets will represent each of Montana's 56 counties. Players from a specific county will wear their native county on the back of their helmet

I liked those too, i was always a fan of teams like a Penn St who never changed. although some of the stuff out there I really like.

I say if you have tradition, stick with it. If you dont then look good and change as often as you want.

I know you guys are talking about ones that you like and all but the above is the only thing I care about. The Bison want to wear yellow and never lose I'm good with that.

Everybody has a customized font these days. The worst NDSU color combo they ever had was the white jersey with the yellow numbers.

Biased, but I've always been a fan of Furman's look, particularly the road uniforms. Whether it is Auburn, Texas, etc., I've always liked the white hat, white jersey, white pants look. Particularly true because on the FCS level, you don't find a more classic logo than Furman's "diamond F," which has been pretty much unchanged for decades.

We had to screw around with it last year with some gharish looking black duds, but fortunately those have been a little less prominent this year.

Given the coaching turnover the last 14 years, we've had more than enough uniform and helmet designs in that time. With the new chancellor we've adopted a comprehensive branding that's incorporated into athletic uniforms. We have a couple of looks, purple jersey and white pants (usual home uniform), white jersey and pants, white jersey and purple pants or all purple. I'm partial to the all purple.

I'm in agreement with you. Liberty's got a fairly good amount of good looking combinations, but something about CSU's is sweet. May have something to do with the fact that their uniforms have come a long way. I can remember the days when the jersey's were baggy and cheap.

If I was a coach and saw those jerseys on the other side of the field, I would demand that the officials penalize them one timeout per half according to rule Rule 1-4-3-c

The Mercer Bears of the SoCon look pretty dang sharp on Saturday's. Partnered with Adidas, they use the school colors of Orange & Black, along with adding Lead (Gray) this season. They use only 1 Helmet (Black), 3 Home Jerseys (Orange, Black, and Lead), 1 Away Jersey (White, of course), 2 Away Pants (Black & White, though I suppose they could use the Lead pants for Away as well). They do not have Orange Pants at this time. 12 possible combinations - All combo's worn shown in this post and next (I think). Have not worn Lead Jerseys/Black Pants, Lead Jerseys/White Pants or White Jerseys/Lead Pants.

Western Illinois - last year on "Military Appreciation Day" we did special jerseys that had camo highlights in a vertical stripe on the sides and around the collar and sleeves. People liked them so much that they were brought back as the regular home uniform this year. The camo they used was even consistent with our Leatherneck nickname and Marines heritage....it's based on the desert MARPAT (Marine Pattern) digital pattern.

Of course it is "permissible" and not illegal, you can take a crap on it and set it on fire and call it art and people will spend thousands to come watch. But the actual flag code says "made of any substance or represented on any substance," so while it's nice that the American Legion chooses to have their own interpretation, it's specifically mentioned in the code that it's incorrect. Hell, the code even says a picture representation, certainly they didn't make a photograph out of a flag.

Grambling needs to get a new helmet or go back to the old all black helmets with the red or yellow stripe down the middle. It's just odd that they switched to the block G and have to pay the Green Bay Packers a yearly fee to use the helmets and a percentage of all their merchandise sales when the logo is used.

Stars and stripes on a uniform jersey do not an American flag make. You don't know what you're talking about. There was no American flag on the Liberty Cup jerseys of 2013 or 2014.

Fordham has worn special unis for the Liberty Cup game with Columbia the last two years to honor the NYPD, PAPD, and FDNY officers lost on 9/11/01. The backs of the jerseys have those letters across the shoulders. Still think it's a desecration? xeyebrowx

Someone start an ugliest uniform in the FCS string............on second thought, never mind. We got that one sewed up hands down. Good thing we only wore these once and then sold them as a fund raiser.
