Six days until The Game! Should be a head-knocker at The Stadium this year. Will a strong Yale team gain a share of the Ivy title, or will Harvard get to keep all the marbles? I think it will be about 35-28, one way or the other.xtwocentsx

Yale will be more motivated for two reasons: to gain a share of the Ivy title, and to snap a 7-year losing streak against Harvard that is reaching Dartmouth-like proportions.:)

But I think Harvard will win a close one.

Harvard in a shootout, I hope. Let's see who has the better defense.

Boston/Cambridge forecast for Saturday: Sunny, high of 40.

As Clark Griswold would say, it will be a "bit nipply" for The Game!:D

I attended Y-H games at the stadium 7 times, the even numbered years from '76-'88. The only time I remember the weather being even remotely warm, was '78 and that could have been because we were up behind the colonnades.

The default weather for Harvard Stadium at the end of November is windy and cold.

I'd imagine such conditions would favor the team whose star player grew up in Canada.

You got that right, bulldog. Was it the '02 Game where the wind determined the outcome? IIRC, no team scored going against the wind all day, and there were a couple of mighty short punts.

According to the guys on the Ivy Voy Board, scalpers and the secondary market are demanding top dollar for H-Y tickets.

Great for Ivy football!! Now if we could just get some more interest in the rest of the games that are being played every year.....

How many Dartmouth fans will find their way to P'ton on Saturday?

Harvard has consistently attracted 15K+ to its home night games. Maybe they should do more of that.

You realize that these are just proxy stand-ins for the actual Yale students? They were picked up at a local job fair and paid $50 each to stand in line to buy tix while the students hang out in a local pub.

Of course. The point is, even seeing stand-ins in line for tickets is a rarity at Yale.

Don't know. But I'll bet that D-P is the second-best attended game for the Ivy tomorrow.

The Game is The Game, but this game is a little more special for the seniors," he said this week as Harvard prepared to face Yale today (12:30 p.m., NBC Sports Network) for the 131st time. "It is our senior year, and playing for the outright championship - we all live for these matchups. It's a big-time game and a big-time circumstance."http://www.theday.com/college-sports/20141122/the-game-finally-has-some-buzz

And oldie but goodie!

Always get some great signs when the Ivies play. When I was living in Cincinnati, I went to the 1999 NIT quarterfinals between Xavier and Princeton at the old Cincinnati Gardens. The Xavier students were holding up signs saying "BEAT THE BOOKWORMS!" and "BEAT THE NERDS!"

And they did! Princeton was ahead at the half, but Xavier had better depth and overtook them.

I love college football history. I wish the Ivys would move back toward big time but I understand why they don't.

Me too. I wished they aligned with the B1G, Pac-12 and Norte Dame. I would love to see Stanford play Harvard.

GG was all over the signs! We we there from 730 to 1100 and my favorite was "Harvard is cos(2pi)" or something like that. I assume the answer is 1.
