Furman and Wofford played the first football game in state history on Dec. 14, 1889, in Spartanburg, and Saturday the state’s oldest football rivals celebrate the game’s 125th season anniversary when they square off at Paladin Stadium in a noon clash that will be broadcast by ESPN3.
