I admit as a B-CU alum and fan, this game was sloppy to watch. However, the game was just as sloppy as the weather. You had thunderstorms before and during the game and the field was wet and slick. There was a strong wind blowing that forced both teams to run and made it almost impossible to pass or punt effectively. With that being said, you had two of the nations top ranked defenses knowing that each team was going to have to run the ball. These teams have played each other many times and know each other well. This was truly a defensive game and made it extremely hard to watch in which I'm calling the mess bowl. The beauty about this game was the chess match that was being played for field position and having the football in the 4th quarter with the wind at your back. True this game was hard to watch, but this isn't the only game that we have played all season and they all haven't been awful or hard to watch. Sloppy conditions can lead to a sloppy game, which also limits your play calling. Sometimes you just have to say, a win is a win and take it anyway you can.

Bucknell has never drawn particularly well. It's located in a rather rural area of Central PA. Being Friday night and the first night of district playoffs for HS football in PA doesn't help either. Most casual football fans in that area of the state are more concerned with those games now that they've realized PSU sucks...
