Idaho State had been a doormat for so long no one outside of the Big Sky conference has heard of them.

This poll is awful, and I say that with no complaint about the teams ahead of Nova, but SIU does not deserve to be in any poll. They haven't beaten anyone worth noting, and might not beat anyone on their remaining schedule.

I have a hard time understanding why people think Coastal Carolina is better than Villanova.

Yeah, I didn't say I agreed, just no complaint. They are undefeated, so no complaint. I know that if we finish 11-1 we won't be seeded behind Coastal, so not sweating it.

Exactly, barely getting by something called chardon state... they need to beat some of the better big sky teams before I buy in.

I'd like to think that if we beat Richmond the Cats move to 3rd, making up the 66 points

Nova's resume (with win 11/1):
8-1
1 pt OT loss @Syracuse that we were 1 FG away from winning
#10 Fordham,
#13 Richmond
#17 W&M
#31 JMU

Costal's resume (with win 11/1):
9-0
#32 NC A&T
#34 SC St
#43 Presbyterian
#42 Charles Southern

.....and just for fun, here are UNH and NDSU

New Hampshire (with win 11/1)
7-1
34 pt loss to Toledo
#13 Richmond
#17 W&M
#36 Dartmouth

North Dakota St (with win 11/1)
9-0
Iowa St
#12 Montana
#18 South Dakota St.
#19 Indiana St
#26 S. Illinois

Coastal (preseason #7) started ahead of Villanova (preseason #12) and they have yet to lose to an FCS team. That's all I got.

Rankings 15-25 are more about covering the conferences than necessarily the 15th though 25th best teams.

Says the 1 TSN guy I know who puts his ballot out in the open weekly and will discuss it with.....wait for it. ...fans. if there were more like you that actually paid attention, it might be a decent poll. But alas, it is a cesspool.

There is a second one. The FCS Wedge has a vote also and I think Kevin posts it up on the AGS Poll thread cuz it's the same vote.

Illinois State at #7 is this some kind of joke?

Coastal ahead of Nova?

McNeese at #9?

Montana at #12?

Cal Poly unranked?

What bizzaro world are these pollsters living in?

That's a damn good idea and I'm gonna tell Kevin this would be a good practice to "lift" from an obviously sharp feller.

I ranked Montana #20 and that was a tough call. I watched that game against CP, not sure I've seen a Montana team look quite like that. It was ugly. I also had McNeese in the bottom half, they've done nothing this year but play Nebraska close. A top 10 team should at this point of the season have a win that I can at least point to and say yeah they are pretty good.

I can buy ISUR at #5 but to put them behind a 2 loss team, which this poll did is insulting.

Both of the guys who vote from the NDSU media usually post their ballots at http://bisonmedia.areavoices.com/. They do pay attention to the comments somewhat but not sure if it has a huge affect on their ballots. They have some head scratching placement for some teams but they're usually both pretty good.
