Maine @ Rhode Island- Ugly, ugly game but Maine pulls it out, 17-13
James Madison @ Charlotte- JMU is on an upswing, and the bye week helped. JMU 31 - Charlotte 24
Delaware @ #18 William & Mary- MUST WIN FOR BOTH TEAMS. Toughest game to call. I think W&M has too much offensively. W&M 34 - Delaware 27
#12 Richmond @ Elon - 3 PM - Richmond, running away. Richmond 41 - Elon 7
Stony Brook @ #4 New Hampshire I don't think Stony Brook has the offensive tools to keep up with UNH, though they slow down UNH's offense. UNH at home, 30 - 17.
Colgate @ Albany - 3:30 PM Gattuso wants the .500 record guarantee, and momentum for the UNH tilt. Turning into a bit of a rivalry with the 'Gate. Danes take it home, in a close one, 30-24.
Morgan State @ #2 Villanova- Mismatch before the kick-off. 'Nova rolls, 38-9.

Turning home for the playoffs now. JMU/ Albany on the outside of the picture and top 25 need to avoid L's to teams that SHOULD be below them. The Hens need a statement win in the worst way and @ W&M would do the trick after a tough late 4th quarter loss to Nova.

you know what? just to get all crazy, i'll take URI over Maine.

Maine @ Rhode Island (they have to win eventually... right?)

James Madison @ Charlotte (don't think this will be as comfortable as it should be: can see JMU coming out of the gate a little sluggish. Dukes win by 3-7 in a sloppy game. we turned the ball over 5 times last year in this matchup, Charlotte turned it over 4 times)

Delaware @ William & Mary (i also think this one could be closer than some anticipate. W&M has to be devastated, but UD has to be embarrassed. the embarrassed team would scare me. that's what Towson was before beating UD)

Richmond @ Elon (no chance for Elon)

Stony Brook @ New Hampshire (31-10, maybe? will be a real test of SBU's defense, they haven't seen anything like UNH thus far. and no, a terrible UConn team doesn't count. they haven't beaten a single FBS team this year)

Colgate @ Albany (closer than you think: Albany by 7-10)

Morgan State @ Villanova (Nova by at least 4 TD's, more depending on when they call off the dogs)

what's the main problem this year? haven't seen you guys yet.

The line is really bad, it was bad last year too but the talent around them covered it up.

QB play has been atrocious, both Collins before he got hurt, and Belcher.

For some reason, Maine refuses to run the ball. 3 yards/carry is better than throwing 10-30.

The defense is strong but is on the field way, way, way too much.

Maine 17, Rhode Island 10 - I think Rhode Island sticks in this game for a while, but Maine makes key plays late to pull out similar to the Towson win.
James Madison 42, Charlotte 24 - Charlotte has played in some wild games the last three weeks, but I think JMU is getting ready to plays its best football of the year (either that or Towson made them look a lot better than they are, probably both)
William & Mary 20, Delaware 17 - Another tight game for these two teams, but I think the William & Mary defense creates a couple of turnovers to win this one. I am extremely happy that Towson beat Delaware, but I also realize the Blue Hens made a ton of mistakes to help the Tigers win that game.
Richmond 31, Elon 10 - The growing pains continue for Elon. I think there is a lot there for the future, but like Albany and Stony Brook last year this is a feeling out process (even though the middle and lower part of the CAA are a little down)
New Hampshire 28, Stony Brook 14 - I think this game could be interesting for a while, but Stony Brook does not have a good enough offense to win this game.
Albany 27, Colgate 24 - I am picking Albany because they are at home. If this was at Colgate I would probably pick them. Colgate played a good Yale team pretty tough this past week and played a tight one earlier in the year against Delaware.
Villanova 41, Morgan State 10 - Looking forward to the Villanova-Richmond game next week, this is will be warm-up for the Wildcats.

ballsy, man. UNH is averaging 43 points/game at home. you guys are averaging 14 points/game on the road.

even if UNH has a bad game, you're still looking at them scoring 24-28 points. so how is SBU going to hit that number? i'm not being a smart ass, i'm seriously asking.

Our defense should keep us in this one but our anemic offense cant score. UNH 27 SBU 14

Your defense's numbers are pretty impressive, especially the Connecticut game, but your stats against the rest of your opponents came against four of the worst scoring offenses in the FCS (#'s 103, 109, 113, & 114 out of 121 teams) and a DII team (AIC). I just don't see them stopping a rested UNH team that's been averaging 43 points per game at home

Maine @ Rhode Island: Poor Rhody? Yes, once again, poor Rhody.

James Madison @ Charlotte: I think JMU wins handily, the 49ers will have no answer for the Duke offense.

Delaware @ William & Mary: Elimination game here, and while normally this spot screams upset (UDee off another surprising home loss, Tribe losing a heartbreaker to the #2 team in the country), I'm taking the experienced home team over the youthful Chickens. So yes, once again, there will be no postseason for the Hens. Brawk!

Richmond @ Elon: Even without their QB, the Spiders are clearly the better team here.

Stony Brook @ New Hampshire: UPSET SPECIAL. I know, nothing about picking SBU makes sense. They have a great defense, sure, but it's been against some weak offenses. They can't move the ball themselves. UNH is a juggernaut at home. Etc etc. Well, here's the thing. SBU is on a bit of a roll, winning 3 straight to even out their record at 4-4. UNH is on cruise control; other than a week 1 loss and a week 3 nailbiter @ Richmond, no one has come closer than Lehigh's 18-point week 2 loss. After SBU, the Wildcats have 4 straight they will be heavy, heavy favorites in. They are in the playoffs. As for Stony Brook, this is their season. A loss here and they have no shot at the playoffs; a win, and hope is alive. They have been playing great defense and, despite the competition, they believe they are a great defense, and expect to shut down the other team. UNH will get the best the Seawolves can muster, and I think, somehow, someway, SBU comes up with a defensive score, or a special teams score, a few big plays from Bedell and/or Coxson, or something - enough to squeak one out against a team that has been hearing how great they are after thumping W&M. I was on SBU early, and they have underachieved, but there is talent on that team, and I think they can go toe-to-toe with UNH and hold their own.

Colgate @ Albany: I agree with other posters in this thread, this just feels like a close game. That said, I don't see how Colgate scores anywhere near enough to win the game. Albany pulls away late to win by 10.

Morgan State @ Villanova: Over by halftime.

Morgan State @ Villanova: Over by halftime.

While I am not changing my vote, the Seawolves do have a shot here. JMU a number of years ago went up north (southern team up north!!!!) and took a #1 by far UNH team to the woodshed. JMU had no business showing up and dominating to that level. Yes, we scored 40+ that day and the Seawolves may have scored 40 all season to date, but UNH throws in a head scratcher from time to time.

Talk about a weird prediction, Morgan State will keep it close enough where its only 'over' at halftime? ;)

Stony Brook does have a shot; however, the argument made by Double H that leads to SB winning would call for the alignment of several unlikely factors and is predicated upon a UNH team showing up over-confident and not respecting their opponent. That is simply not where UNH is right now. The one they took away from their blow-out semi-finals loss in the Fargo Dome last season was that they needed to bring their game to a higher level. They can't coast into the playoff with one or two more loses and expect to succeed at that level. They respect SB and realize it could be their toughest match-up remaining in the regular season. Expect a hard fought, interesting game that both teams clearly want to win. But as most of the predictions here indicate, UNH's offense will eventually put up too many points for SB to match, even with SB's stingy defense.

IMHO, Stony Brook will need to cause multiple turnovers and have short fields to score enough to keep pace with the UNH offense. Vailas does have a propensity to overthrow his receivers high and this could lead to INT's. However, his decision making is better this year and he is more likely to tuck the ball and run if he is uncomfortable with the look his is getting.

According to their 2-deep, I see 4 underclassmen on O and 3 on D, 4 of whom are freshmen. To me, starting 4 freshmen qualifies as youthful, although I'll admit I was surprised to see so many seniors, considering how all the Delaware guys on here are complaining about the inexperience on this team.

UD has 21 underclassmen on two-deep. W&M has 19. UD starts 12 seniors. W&M starts 7. Can be misleading though as you can have a Junior who is a three-year starter, and a Senior starting for the first time. Week-to-week changes can mislead as well. Airek Green not starting on W&M two-deep but is returning first team All-CAA. If Hen fans think their team lacks experience they would probably know.
