McNeese State Wins Third In A Row

FRISCO, Texas - McNeese Stated scored 24 unanswered points in the third quarter for a 34-13 Southland Conference football victory over Southeastern Louisiana here Saturday night.
The victory was the third in a row for the Cowboys who are now 3-1 in league play and 5-4 overall. Southeastern Louisiana dropped to 1-4 and 2-8.
With the win McNeese kept in the running for the league title. Sam Houston State was also victorious on Saturday and the two teams are tied for the SLC's top spot.
It was a defensive show that gave the Cowboys the jump start they needed in the second half.
"In the first half we had some negative vibes from things that didn't go our way and we came out swarming in the second half, forced some turnovers and everything just fed off that," said Cowboy interim head coach Matt Viator.
