Echoes my picks for the week as well. Maine and Delaware have a chance on the road to make themselves heard as conference play begins to really start up but both homes teams in JMU/ Towson need it just as bad to keep pace.

i'm pretty surprised at that, also. not sure where that's coming from.

i can't pick this one yet, want to see the injury situations for both teams. assuming UD is pretty healthy coming off an open date?

UD is paper thin on both lines, LB'er play is a big concern - Yes, tough game to call but I wouldn't be totally surprised if the Hens lay a big egg... they are playing a lot of true Freshman on D already.... the D is the biggest concern for Hen fans

It's a pick'em game for me but I went with JMU by 3 because of home field advantage; that edge could be negated as UD has a week off to prepare. This is a big game for both programs...I'll be sure to DVR it.

St Francis had 420 of offense and 22 points despite giving up 4 turnovers. Dukes could be the remedy for Hens offense.

While I think the CAA will win both games by a comfortable (or more) margin, I'd be shocked if the margin of victory is greater for UNH than Nova.

Villanova 35, Penn 24 - Local rivalry makes game closer than you would think
Central Connecticut State 20, Rhode Island 17 - Rhode Island would win this game at home
James Madison 31, Delaware 17 - JMU bounces back at home
Wlliam & Mary 17, Stony Brook 13 - William & Mary narrowly avoids this trap
New Hampshire 38, Dartmouth 27
Coastal Carolina 28, Elon 17 - Coastal is 3-0 in the MEAC so far this year.
Maine 10, Towson 9 - These next two games will give us a good look at what the season holds in store for Towson

well that's encouraging. you won't recognize this JMU team. everything is totally different. tempo, playcalling, formations, defense, everything is different on both sides of the ball. so much inexperience, this is going to be a learning year for a lot of guys.

i agree with Tribe4SF that this could be a really high scoring game. looks like both teams are terrible on 3rd down defense (a perennial problem for JMU, it seems), which is the most frustrating thing to watch, other than turnovers.

feels like a 42-38 kind of game, don't know who will win. if one team wins the turnover battle (as opposed to being even), i'd say that team wins with about 85% confidence from me.

#3 Villanova @ Pennsylvania - Nova on the rise, easy victory

Rhode Island @ Central Connecticut State - Rhody on life support.

Delaware @ James Madison - Hens sloppy against 'Gate, the Dukes are a safe bet

#11 William & Mary @ Stony Brook - I can excuse SBU's losses to Bryant and UConn, but their loss to North Dakota hasn't given me much faith in the Seawolves.

Dartmouth @ #4 New Hampshire - After thrashing Lehigh, this is an easy pick.

Columbia @ #25 Albany - Columbia on a 12 game losing streak, about to be increased to 13

Elon @ #5 Coastal Carolina - The Chants will break in the CAA new guy

Maine @ Towson - Call it a gut feeling, but my faith in Towson Defense is low right now.

Green, whats your prediction for this weekends game? UNH and Dartmouth havent played in so long I dont know what to think. UNH is good as usual, but I cant judge how good Dartmouth is.

Should be a good atmosphere this weekend for UNH's first night game ever.

UNH is always going to have more talent. That being said, this should be more like a 1990s game than a 2000s game.

When Dartmouth was good, the games were competitive. 21-21 in 1990 when UNH was ranked #3. 14-7 in 1993. The 1992 45-27 game was misleading, as Dartmouth actually had the lead in the fourth quarter before UNH pulled ahead and got two late touchdowns to make the final score look worse than it actually was.

The 2000s were mostly slaughters. Dartmouth sucked in that decade.

UNH should win. But I think Dartmouth should be at least within striking distance most of the game. We had a couple of starters sit out against CCSU with injuries. Are they going to come back on Saturday? Or are they going to rest up for the following week's Ivy opener against Penn?

Just realized I forgot to make a pick for Albany-Columbia. Here are all of my picks:

Villanova 35, Penn 24 - Local rivalry makes game closer than you would think
Central Connecticut State 20, Rhode Island 17 - Rhode Island would win this game at home
James Madison 31, Delaware 17 - JMU bounces back at home
Wlliam & Mary 17, Stony Brook 13 - William & Mary narrowly avoids this trap

Coastal Carolina 28, Elon 17 - Coastal is 3-0 in the MEAC so far this year.

Albany 24, Columbia 17

Villanova @ Penn - After a tough schedule to start the season, 'Nova should roll for a few weeks before heading to Williamsburg for a biggie.

Rhode Island @ Central Connecticut State - Good God that season opening loss to CCSU looks worse and worse with each passing week...

Delaware @ James Madison - JMU has looked less mediocre than Delaware, and their offense is starting to put it together.

William & Mary @ Stony Brook - If SBU kicks so much as a single field goal, I will be surprised.

Dartmouth @ New Hampshire - UNH just keeps rolling along toward another playoff berth. Look at their schedule. They will be favored in every remaining game with the possible exception of @W&M. I see 8, maybe 9 wins from the Wildcats.

Columbia @ Albany - Speaking of which, the Danes keep sneaking along toward 8 wins...

Elon @ Coastal Carolina - Coastal is really becoming a top program. Back-to-back manhandlings of MEAC teams.

Maine @ Towson - Well, if there was ever a day for our talented yet consistently out-schemed defense to have a good day, this is it, at least until next week when we get to play Stony Brook. Home game + coming off back-to-back wins + Maine coming off a bad loss to BC + young team starting to gel = a W to start CAA play.

A year ago, Towson-Maine would have been THE game. The loser of this one can probably kiss the '14 season goodbye. I'm sticking with Towson by 3 at home.

and i'll take JMU 42-38 over UD. our two best games (which isn't necessarily saying much) have been on the road and we really underwhelmed against St. Francis. homefield isn't much of a factor, honestly. but i think it might be hard for UD to contain Vad Lee on the ground. i'd personally dare him to throw as much as possible and live with the result.
