Stony Brook @ Connecticut - After last week's embarrassing loss, and despite what I think is a pretty talented roster, there's no freakin' way I have any confidence in SBU anymore, especially against an FBS team.James Madison @ Lehigh - Upset? Maybe, but Lehigh showed it can hang with top CAA teams last year, and JMU is probably a middle-of-the-pack team right now.
Richmond @ Virginia - I think Richmond can hang around, but I won't pick another CAA-over-ACC upset.
Fordham @ Villanova - I could see this going either way TBH, but I'll go 'Nova in a shootout. Robertson is a beast.
Delaware State @ Delaware - I have to think the Hens are better than 62-0, but if there was ever a time for Del St to win one of these...
Albany @ Central Connecticut - After watching CCSU whip my Tigers, I believe they go to 2-0 after this one.
William & Mary @ Hampton - I really thought the Tribe would be able to hang with Tech on the back of its defense, but the FBS depth showed as their D was on the field way too long. Nice rebound matchup here.
Rhode Island @ Marshall - Poor Rhody.
Towson @ West Virginia - Poor Towson?Let's just say I'm not too optimistic after last week's catastrophe.

Stony Brook @ Connecticut - UConn is worse than Buffalo, a team that SB played close into 5OT last year. But after getting whipped by Bryant I'd say my faith in the Seawolves is low right now

James Madison @ Lehigh - Call it a good feeling about the Dukes.

Richmond @ Virginia - Would love to see the upset, but UVA played UCLA real tough.

Fordham @ Villanova - Fordham 'bout to go HAM

Delaware State @ Delaware - This is where the Hens will rebound.

Albany @ Central Connecticut - I still believe Albany can win. Holy Cross had our backs against the ropes the entire game, their coach lost the game for them. Make no mistake, the gap between NEC and CAA is closing.

William & Mary @ Hampton - Tribe. Easy.

Rhode Island @ Marshall - Poor Rhody.

Towson @ West Virginia - RIP Towson

Just to set the record straight with Albany vs Holy Cross. UA's QB stunk up the joint. If he plays better, the game is not that close. No offense to Holy Cross but people keep saying UA's "back was to the wall" the entire game and UA was "dominated for 58 minutes", get real. The mighty Crusaders scored 13 points in the first half and were shut out in the second half. Their kicker missed makeable FG's so that's on them! HC QB is an outstanding QB for sure.

Albany's D has great speed but are prone to the long ball as they have always been. Smallish on the DL. On Offense they struggle throwing the deep ball and seemed slow. Osbourne in space is tough to defend as is Parker the TE tough to defend. Parker had 7 catches and a TD and Osbourne had a respectable 85 yards.

I wouldn't throw dirt on the Great Danes just yet. CCSU beat a declining Towson team and I believe CCSU is better week in and week out than Towson. Their QB will not be as good as HC and they will be more balanced. I expect a great game. As far as CAA play, it looks less daunting than last year. No longer worry about Stony Brook or Delaware. Both very winnable games in CAA play.

I concur, this will be a tough game. I think it is fair to say that CCSU is, on paper, probably about a 4-point favorite at home. That doesn't mean Albany can't or won't win. This series is very tight.

For the record, I actually think our QB will look better than what you faced against HC, and Holloman is a threat whenever he touches the ball (rushing, receiving, returns). I thought our defense played much better than anyone expected vs. Towson. I hope that was not a fluke. The CCSU offense, especially under our new head coach who UA fans are very familiar with, is by far the strength of the team. Even in a losing season last year, the production by SanGiacamo (QB) and Holloman (RB) was spectacular. The team has under-performedthe past 3 seasons, and the new regime now has Central as a dangerous opponent for anyone, any week.

IMO - If the Danes are going to beat CCSU they are going to have to put a lot of points on the board. I think Central puts up at least 21 points against the Danes, which means you guys will need at least 3 TDs to beat us, which I think is asking a lot from your current QB and offense. That being said, if the CCSU defense doesn’t play well, Osbourne will run all over us and put up those points on the ground by himself. I think the Albany D is very capable of limiting our running game (holding HC to 117 yards rushing was impressive), but I think we have a lot of options to stretch the field on offense.

ACE, this is IMO going to be as tough a game for UA as any CAA matchup (with Villanova being the exception). With Coach Ross at the helm, CCSU is dangerous. In years past this was in most cases a win for UA. With Rossomundo steering the ship the tables are more than even. Ross badly wanted the Albany job will be out for blood!

Not sure about your QB but he will get his share of completions against UA that's for sure. When you see the HC QB you will see a true rifle for an arm. Deadly accurate. If he had better WR's he would have completed more passes (many dropped balls). That kid could start for any FCS team period.

Wednesday morning update:
- Just looking at picks so far, I'd say that JMU @ Lehigh should be the game of the week, although UA @ CCSU is making a strong candidacy for that slot. Luckily they're not at the same time.

Connecticut (100%) v. Stony Brook
Lehigh (54.2%) v. James Madison (-6)
Virginia (-14.5) (91.7%) v. Richmond
Villanova (-10) (91.7%) v. Fordham
Delaware (95.8%) v. Delaware State
Central Connecticut State (79.2%) v. Albany
William & Mary (100%) @ Hampton
Marshall (100%) v. Rhode Island
West Virginia (-17.5) (100%) v. Towson

Hampton threw for over 400 yards against a historically poor ODU pass defense. Because of their quick strike ability, they have a punchers chance. HU has never beaten W&M and I don't think they'll stop the Tribe's rush attack nor do I think they will pass for more than 200 yards on the Tribe D. Tribe will eat up the clock.

W&M: 27
HU: 13

JMU and VU cannot afford to start 0-2. VU may recover but I don't think JMU could.

UConn - if Stony Brook can't beat Bryant at home they don't have a prayer vs UConn
JMU - Toughest game to call all week - especially since Lehigh hasn't played yet
UVA - Spiders could upset but Wahoo D looked real good vs UCLA
'Nova - I think Fordham is a little overrated - last year VU was banged up & turned the ball over 5 times
UD - DelState is the worst team on our schedule, thankfully for the last time
CCSU - Albany was horrible last year & looks similar this year
W&M - Just the better team
Marshall - No way Rhody beats a Marshall team some think could run table

UConn 30 SBU 17 - Before last week I thought the Seawolves had a shot in this one....

West Virginia 48 Towson 13 - The Mountaineers looked pretty darn good against Alabama. That's not a good sign for Towson....

Delaware 41 Delaware State 17 - UD bounces back....

CCSU 24 Albany 17 - Tough game to pick. Albany's offense still seems to be a problem.....

Villanova 38 Fordham 31 - I can't see the Rams beating the 'Nova team I saw at the dome last week. If Fordham was 100% healthy I'd be more inclined to pick them...

JMU 28 Lehigh 24 - If Lehigh pounded cupcake state last week and looked solid doing so I could justify picking them. As it is, I give the slightest of edge to JMU. If Lehigh avoids silly mistakes they win....
