And this is a wrap until we get closer to the draft. UMass' Koegel is on the board here. The rest are out there, but we know punters don't typically get drafted...

Koegel is getting hurt this year by UMass not punting much. Up till last game he only had 17 punts. Now just 21 on the season.

i think Chad Oakley deserves to be on this list from WSSU...i think hes third in I-AA in punting and now doubles as a kicker since our kicker left school after struggling with making extra points....

Tyson Johnson hurt himself in the Iowa game & should take a medical redshirt this year.

Joe Bishop
Youngstown State
Sources say NFL is watching him... no bogus there.

Average Wise: 37.27
is just average.

But if you look deeper into it:
16 Punts Inside the 20 yard-line.

Yesterday vs. SIU: He hit a punt out of bounds at the 4 and one out of bounds at the 10.... He does a tremendous job at angling kicks out of bounds and getting them deep; rather than letting them bounce in-bounds.......

You can't forget about the hang time on Bishop's kickoffs. Bishop's hang time + the speed of Justin Reams = DEADLY! If Bishop continues to strengthen his leg, NFL teams may want him to perform kickoff duties.

If only Ryan Hoffman wouldn't have hurt his leg (from Illinois State), we'd have another I-AA punter in the pros, likely the NFL.

Saw this kid in person. He was unreal in pregrame... everyone was giving him a second look. OK in the game.

I think he will get a look somewhere.

Breck Ackley, Southern University

1st in average: 45.6
2nd in net: 38.3
1st in In20s: 17

He's been the Jags' starting kicker for four years (and is the all-time leading scorer in SU history), but this is his first season punting (don't get me started on that).

I believe he is worthy of an opportunity to continue his career.
