Liberty University currently has an all-time attendance of 996,477, only 3523 short of 1 Million. With three of the four home games being over 10,000 people this year, it's a safe bet that LU will pass the 1 Million mark this weekend.

Not every school can bring in 22-25,000 every weekend like you guys. It's a big deal to some schools to pass the 1 million mark.

Congrats! I wonder how I can figure out how/when JMU has broken or will break the 1M mark.

That's what I was thinking......................
How do you know that?

Look at all the attendance numbers from your home game and add them up.

Lol thank you captain obvious ;)

I don't know of a database that collects all JMU attendance figures since the beginning...

They should be in all the box scores on JMU's athletic website. I know on Texas State's you can find the box score for every game. The attendance is usually on there somewhere.

Thanks for the pointer. So far I've only found box scores up until 2001 (and no 2002 and 2003?) on our site. I'll have to check through other team's athletic sites. Anyway, back on topic!

Good job Liberty!

yea,
but for all time attendance?

I would think it would be hard to find attendance #'s for say 10 years ago.

I found the number in the paper on Sunday. Maybe iaascribe will get on here and be able to let you know how he found that out.

I was able to trace JMU's attendance records back until 1995, through the NCAA.org site.

During the 1995-2006 period (still 1 home game to be played this year) we have an attendance of 786467, or an average of 11398 over 69 games.

I can't seem to find Wofford's attendance figures from 1889. Maybe I can try to track down the 1889 web site to get the numbers:D

Appalachian's media guide has attendance figures home/away/overall for every game since 1971.

FWIW, since 1971, 2,604,582 fans have watched Appalachian play at The Rock...

243,402 since the start of the 2005 season (12 games).
117,985 this season (five games).

FTR, I wasn't trying to be snobby or condescending. I just don't see it as a big deal. If App St. hit the billion mark this past weekend, I really wouldn't care too much. No disrespect to your program was intended.

If it means something to ya, congrats. :hurray:

Good stuff; Liberty has come a long way since 1972.

I stand corrected - thought I heard him say once that LBC was founded in '72, but maybe I mistook that for the groundbreaking for one of their major buildings. At any rate, 1,000,000 fans is fine work. I don't think Colgate has drawn that many fans at home in 115 years of football.
